It wasn’t that long ago that rumors were swirling about drastically changing the Boston Celtics roster to make a playoff run, but after no blockbuster trades were made, the C’s find themselves sitting pretty in the standings and working with what they have.
Only 3 1/2 games back of the New York Knicks in the division standings, the Celtics can almost look back to earlier in the season, when their chances of even making the playoffs looked slim, and laugh. The Celts have found some chemistry in the second half of the season and there is no doubt that the leadership of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce has helped lead this team’s turnaround.
NESN.com’s Ben Watanabe joined Jared Stillman on New Hampshire Sports Tonight to discuss the duo’s relationship on and off the court, the Celtics’ playoff chances, the matchups they could see and their upcoming battle with the streaking Miami Heat.
Listen below to hear how the Celtics will fare in the playoffs.

BOSTON — Mike Dunlap needs to work on giving compliments.
The Bobcats coach was apparently being flattering of Paul Pierce, the workmanlike star of the Celtics, when he praised Pierce is the weirdest way possible on Saturday. After saying a bunch of normal things about the way Pierce controls the game and always gets the shot he wants, Dunlap got really creative with his admiration...

You can’t tune out the fact that the Miami Heat have won 20 straight games and are now tied for the third-longest winning streak in NBA history. The longest, 33 in a row, was done by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers. But, if you ask Paul Pierce what he thinks about the potential of playing the Heat on a 22-game win streak come Monday, he simply doesn’t care and if truth be told...

"I really don't even care. I hope they lose every game the rest of the season. I just worry about what this team does"-Paul Pierce
I just love this team. No other team in the league is as hardcore as
the Celtics. They don't care about being liked and what other teams/fans think of them. They embrace the rivalry they have with the Heat and
don't try to suck...

It was sad to see 4 pages on one game thread and 19 on another. Those game threads used to have over 100 pages every game. The Celtics did get the benefit of some calls last night. I'm amazed at how many fans hate their head coach. Makes me very thankful for Doc. Good game for the Celtics. Not so much for the Raptors. Enjoy today's comments...
