Brooklyn Nets forwards Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce returned to Boston for the first time since being traded from the Celtics, and were welcomed with open arms. KG, who played in Boston for 6 seasons, received a video tribute from the Celtics during a timeout late in the first quarter:Paul "The Truth" Pierce, who played in Boston for 15 seasons, received his video tribute at the end of the first quarter, and you could tell Pierce was truly touched. A.B. Ah, the perils of being a Boston homer; even as an admitted Celtics band-wagoner (sorry but I can’t watch the NBA unless the Celts are good), these tribute videos had me choked up, especially the one for Pierce.

Tonight marked the first time that Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce returned to Boston as members of an opposing team.
As both were introduced to the Celtics crowd, both were given huge ovations as they recognized the fans for doing so:

With both Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett making their returns to Boston on Sunday, fans at TD Garden were treated to not one, but two video tributes.
The former Boston Celtics greats were visibly emotional as highlights from their time in green played on the Garden video board, Garnett’s during the first quarter and Pierce’s right before the start of the second.
Paul Pierce might have trouble finding the visitors' locker room or controlling his emotions in his return to Boston.
