MINNEAPOLIS Timberwolves basketball season is right around the corner, and players are beginning to trickle back to the Twin Cities. Training camp begins Oct. 2, but before he joins his teammates on the court, Kevin Love will have one other camp to attend to: his own. The Kevin Love Basketball ProCamp will take place Sept. 22-23 from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Eden Prairie High School. At the camp, boys and girls ages 7 to 18 can participate in instructional sessions with Love and other local coaches. Campers will also receive a free T-shirt, Timberwolves ticket and a camp photo autographed by Love. The camp will focus on games as well as instruction, and each camper will be placed on a team based on his or her age. Campers will compete in at least one game per day. The camp registration fee is 199, and campers from outside the Twin Cities area can receive special camp rates at the Hampton Inn Eden Prairie. Love, 24, returns to Minneapolis after spending his summer training in Los Angeles and playing with Team USA in London, where he won a gold medal. At the Olympics, Love was fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 11.6 points in eight games. He led team USA in rebounding, with 7.6 per game, and shot 81.3 percent from the field, the second-best mark on the team. Last season with the Timberwolves, Love averaged 26.0 points (fourth in the NBA) and 13.3 rebounds (second in the NBA) per game. Follow Joan Niesen on Twitter.
