Listen to internet radio with CLNSRadio on Blog Talk Radio(Listen at 9 p.m. ET with the widget above, call in at 347-215-7771 and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.)The Boston Celtics have won two straight, but, sadly, that doesn’t eliminate the line of layups they surrendered to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.Rajon Rondo’s streak remains intact, Jeff Green went from star one day to non-factor the next, Kevin Garnett’s minutes continue to be severely limited, Paul Pierce has quietly been pretty friggin’ awesome, Boston’s offense is actually ahead of its defense (weird, I know), Leandro Barbosa is a tale of two sides of the court, and Jared Sullinger continues to progress quite well.Join me and co-host Ty Ray Monday night at 9 p.m. ET as we discuss all the happenings in the Celtics universe.

According to a press release from the league and dropped by Forsberg at the worldwide leader, Rondo has ascended into the upper echelon of the Top 15 Most Popular NBA Jerseys. Rondo is #6 on the list and in true underdog status Pierce appears at #14. As a green-teamer who owns both a Rondo black and green alternate jersey and a Pierce St. Patty’s day jersey (my all-time fave) I...
Is it too early to start the campaign for Rajon Rondo as MVP of the 2012-2013 NBA season? Never too early to try…. It’s been almost ten years since Steve Nash or anyone won the MVP with stats similar to Rondo. I’m going to break down Rondo’s season so far stat wise vs. Steve Nash’s 2004-2005 season to make my point because you can always find stats to make your argument...
With Derrick Rose out, Williams and Rondo are unquestionably the cream of the crop at the point guard position in the Eastern Conference. The first time their teams met (a 102-97 Nets win in Brooklyn win two weeks ago) Rondo missed the game with a sprained ankle. But tonight the two All-Stars will get a chance to go head to head. In past years when asked who was better, most...
This is just totally embarassing for Celtics' Paul Pierce and it came courtesy of Magic's Jameer Nelson.
Let's set it up:
The scene: Orlando, FL, Amway Center
The victim: Boston's Paul Pierce
The outcome: Pierce gets decimated by a hesitation move by Nelson which causes his ankle to get shattered along with his knee to buckle.
Though Boston and Pierce would...
Year after year, Paul Pierce has been a foundational rock for the Boston Celtics. Throughout his career, he has filled a myriad of roles and willed his team to wins in the clutch, but his game has evolved over time. Always a crafty player, "The Truth" has fine-tuned his post game, hesitation dribble, ball fakes, step-backs, and jump shot in order to stay competitive despite...
Also, I forgot to note, we could have traded Paul Pierce to the Clippers and maybe got some draft pics and prospects. I am just sayin!

Surprised to see so much Big Baby hate. I've felt that the Celtics got the best of the deal but I though Baby was doing pretty well there. Guess not. A lot of ref complaints but I thought the refs missed stuff on both sides but didn't favor either. Of course, what would a CFTOS be without a Paul Pierce wheelchair reference? My favorite comments are in bold. ...
Paul Pierce had a good game in their 116-110 overtime victory over the Magic Sunday night. But while Pierce poured in 23 points on the offensive end, all we want to talk about is how he almost lost a leg on the defensive end to a crossover dribble from Magic guard Jameer Nelson.
Gotta move those feet, Paul.
The post Here’s Jameer Nelson hitting Paul Pierce with a crossover that...

The Celtics hold on in Orlando tonight to beat the Magic 116-110 in OT. Looked like the Celtics would continue their stellar play from Friday night early, but a nightmare 3rd quarter where Boston’s defense vanished and Orlando shot the lights out made this a nail biter.
The Green: Rondo came out of the gate on a mission. He had 4 assists in the first 4 minutes of the game, 9 at...
So it looks like it is OK to like LeBron James again.
After spending the better part of two years in just about everybody’s doghouse, the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player and now-defending NBA champion was back at the top of the list of top-selling jerseys, signaling that the league’s best player apparently is popular again.
James replaced Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, who...
Jameer Nelson pulled off one of the most simple non-crossovers I have seen in quite sometime, and it sent Paul Pierce tumbling to the ground. Check out how Pierce’s legs just buckled underneath him as Jameer created more than space. Paul was forced to pick up his jock-strap following the embarrassment.
And yes, Jameer missed the shot.

Paul Pierce has done this a million times. Early in games, late in games, in the middle, it does not matter when. Pierce knows exactly how to finish things off and how to brush off any failures. When he stepped into a wide-open 3-pointer with 2:10 left in overtime to break a 108-108 tie, it was old hat for him.
For the Magic, it is not quite second nature to win these close games...
Fantastic crossover by the one time all star point guard, Jameer Nelson. Unfortunately, you need to sink the basket or at least take the ball to the hole if you are going to leave your defender looking like he just had his leg chopped off by a zombie. Or a fat person falling and not getting up.
In related news, the Orlando Magic almost beat the Celtics in this game. That...
