With the season winding down, the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks both recognize the importance of their final meeting as they fight for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Trying to hold off the Bucks, the Knicks will look to prevent them from taking the season series when the teams meet Wednesday night in Milwaukee. One game separates Milwaukee (28-29) from eighth-place New York (29-28) in the East. Neither team helped its cause its last time out, with the Bucks falling 109-89 to Oklahoma City on Monday and the Knicks losing 98-86 at Chicago on Tuesday. While New York defeated Milwaukee 89-80 in the most recent meeting March 26, the Bucks won the first two and could capture the season series and the head-to-head tiebreaker with a victory Wednesday. "It's a must win," New York's Carmelo Anthony said. "It's probably one of the biggest games of the season for us. We've got to be ready." Milwaukee's loss to the Thunder on M...

Knicks G Lin doubts return for first round of playoffs

The New York Knicks have yet to qualify for the postseason - but if they do, guard Jeremy Lin doesn't feel he'll be ready to join them for the first round. Lin is recovering from surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee. "I think unless something goes really well, I wouldn't get there," Lin told ESPN New York. Lin acknowledged that he is feeling...

Jeremy Lin doubtful of a Round 1 return

Jeremy Lin said he is "cautiously optimistic" that he will play again for the New York Knicks this year, but doesn't think it will be until the second round of the playoffs. The Knicks point guard speaking before yesterday's 100-99 overtime win over the Chicago Bulls— and six days after surgery for a torn left meniscus— said he does not want to rush back. ...

Should the Knicks Have Signed a Point Guard Like Mike James?

With strong defensive play propelling the Knicks to many victories already this season, the surprising concern thus far has actually been the team's fluidity on offense.Toney Douglas' early season struggles as starter set the negative tone for the Knicks offensively, and New York has struggled throughout without an efficient floor general. Of course, Jeremy Lin provided a...

Where’s Lester Hudson’s “Linsanity?”

On February 6, the shorthanded New York Knicks topped the Utah Jazz at home. The team’s two best players were inactive, dealing with various issues ranging from personal to health. The hero of the day — and subsequent weeks — was a hardwood vagabond, a scrappy guard who had been bounced from multiple NBA franchises, left to trudge through the murk and muck of the NBDL. Jeremy...

Will Melo's Heroics Awaken the Bulls in Time for a Tuesday Shellacking?

Carmelo Anthony continued to cement his legacy as the holiday hero, propelling the Knicks to a stunning 100-99 victory over the Bulls on Easter Sunday. In what was arguably Anthony's greatest performance as a Knick to date, the Brooklyn native's season-high 43 points proved he is ready for the challenge of having to carry the team on his own, without the likes of Amar'...

Knicks' Chandler's wrist is hurting but no surgery needed

The New York Knicks pulled out a thrilling overtime win against the Chicago Bulls yesterday and if this team remains as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, then they will need as much firepower they can have if they want any chance at upsetting the Bulls. It is bad enough that New York lost Jeremy Lin for the season and that Amar'e Stoudemire is day-to-day with...

Shumpert finishing his rookie season strong

Iman Shumpert is almost falling into the clichéd story of guys who were told they wouldn’t succeed and then showed up the world by proving them all wrong. I’m not going to say the New York Knicks rookie guard is a raving success, but he has done better than most people thought, and he’s definitely on his way. When he decided to forego his senior season at Georgia Tech and...

D-League sets records for call-ups, assignments

The NBA Development League had 50 players called up to NBA teams this season, 10 more than its previous high. The NBA D-League also had 64 players assigned from NBA clubs, surpassing its record of 56 set last season. The previous high of 40 call-ups was set during the 2009-10 season. Every NBA team has at least one former D-Leaguer, with the New York Knicks turning their season...

Basically we’ll track day-to-day activities as we wind down for the playoffs with only 17 days remaining.  This year we have a wild race in both conferences making for a dramatic finish under way with 9 teams fighting in the Eastern Conference and 10 teams competing in the Western Conference, I am considering Portland eliminated already. We will also will take keep...
