The New York Knicks pulled out a thrilling overtime win against the Chicago Bulls yesterday and if this team remains as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, then they will need as much firepower they can have if they want any chance at upsetting the Bulls.

It is bad enough that New York lost Jeremy Lin for the season and that Amar'e Stoudemire is day-to-day with a back injury. But now comes word center Tyson Chandler has been playing with a sprained left wrist.

However, Knicks fans can breathe easy. Chandler's wrist won't need surgery.

"It's hurt," Chandler said. "I've been banged up throughout the season, but it's all right. I don't have a fracture. I don't know for sure what it is. It's too complicated, basically, and if I try to explain it, I'm not a doctor and I'm going to sound [silly]."

"I came down awkwardly and it's given me problems since, but it's not something that's surgical."

Chandler injured his wrist during a game against Dallas in February off a fall during the game.

But as the playoffs inch ever so closer, it is imperative the Knicks head into the playoffs with as much players available. As said before, this team will more than likely have to face Chicago or Miami. A not so easy task to face for the Knicks but with Chandler, the Knicks present either team a defensive center the two teams have a disadvantage.

Having Chandler patrolling the paint will prove a defensive nightmare for either the Bulls or Heat and rightfully so. Tyson averages 1.5 blocks, 9.9 rebounds, and can run the pick-and-roll quite well. Moreover, here is how he has fared versus Chicago and Miami this season and as you will see, he does much better against the Bulls than the Heat.
