Carmelo Anthony‘s knee injury is being treated carefully but optimistically ever since the Knicks forward left Monday’s game after stumbling to the floor in the second quarter. For now, the team is holding out hope that Anthony simply tweaked his right knee during the win over the Cavaliers. Their best-case scenario is that he will be back on the court soon.
If he is not, the second-guessers will have a field day with Knicks coach Mike Woodson.
In a radio interview on Tuesday, Woodson disclosed that Anthony had asked out of the game because “something wasn’t right.” Woodson left in Anthony, who the coach said has never asked to come out of a game, because “[Anthony's] a warrior. He’s a tough kid.”
Woodson admitted that leaving the league’s leading scorer in the game was “stubborn.”
If Anthony’s injury is more severe than it looks — remember that Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo‘s strained hamstring turned out to be a torn ACL — Woodson’s honeymoon with Knicks fans could be o

The knee injury that forced Carmelo Anthony from the game the other night held him out of last night's game as well. Anthony fell hard to the court after tripping over his own feet on Sunday, but he had been battling a knee issue for a few games. It turns out, he has fluid on the knee.According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Anthony was unable to play last night because...

Carmelo Anthony took a frightening tumble on Monday night during the New York Knicks’ loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. After the Knicks grabbed a rebound in the second quarter, Anthony looked to receive an outlet pass and appeared to trip over his own feet. He then grabbed toward his knee in pain.

The Knicks are reluctant to reveal the source of Carmelo Anthony's discomfort in his right knee.
CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers have become accomplished at one thing this season, and its not something thats any good.
But their ability to take the wind out of their own sails is clearly unmatched.
That may sound harsh, especially when youre talking about such a young team that understands its taking part in an ongoing process.
Well, chalk up another one to painful memories, as...
Amare Stoudemire scored 22 points, J.R. Smith added 18 and the New York Knicks overcame a 22-point deficit without All-Star Carmelo Anthony to beat the Cavaliers 102-97 on Monday night, ending a 10-game losing streak in Cleveland.
Steve Novak made three of New York's seven 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Knicks rallied and shook off a tough home loss on Sunday, when...
The Knicks managed to win last night in Cleveland, but issues remain within the organization. Despite a sterling regular season record, Mike Woodson’s rotation decisions lead me to believe he will cost us a valuable game or two in the postseason. Woodson has excelled at coaching his players up, creating plays out of timeouts and getting guys to buy into his way of doing things...
The New York Knicks may be without Carmelo Anthony on Wednesday night. If their reserves can repeat their latest performance and Amare Stoudemire can continue his efficient scoring, it may not matter against the hapless Detroit Pistons.
New York will be going for its second straight season sweep of Detroit - having taken the first three meetings by an average of 16.7 points - and...
