Despite sort of looking like Droopy Dog, Mike Woodson has managed to keep his players’ attention as Knicks coach. This is not a small accomplishment, since New York’s roster is filled with players who have had problems with other coaches in the past.
On Tuesday, Woodson offered a glimpse into one thing that might help him relate to today’s players. Woodson wore a T-shirt with his own face on it, over the words “COACH.” The bit of dry humor was not lost on Chris Herring of The Wall Street Journal, who did the world a favor and tweeted a photo of Woodson.
If this is a new strategy the Knicks are using to identify everybody at practice, we approve. We look forward to seeing J.R. Smith‘s face on a shirt that says “GUNNER,” Rasheed Wallace’s face with “TECHNICALS” and Jason Kidd‘s face over the words “OLD.”
Check out Woodson’s shirt in the tweet below.

If the New York Knicks spent the All-Star Break getting some rest and relaxation, someone forgot to wake them up. The second half of the Knicks’ season started in disastrous fashion last Wednesday against Indiana, and the losing streak reached four on Friday when the Knicks faltered in crunch time against the Toronto Raptors. Thankfully, the Philadelphia 76ers and their putrid...

Here’s video of Carmelo Anthony slapping Spencer Hawes in the back of the head during last night’s game.
Melo didn’t even collect a technical for his cheap-shot slap.
What are the odds the league reviews the video and assessing Anthony a suspension, especially considering his pattern of behavior?
Knicks guard and professional charmer J.R. Smith has been put on blast in social media recently, thanks to a rather direct approach to scoring with an 18-year-old high school student. Did that exchange come across as a bit shallow? Certainly. Which is why J.R. took it upon himself to release a cheat sheet for would-be athlete lovers — highlighting the importance of always being...
Tweet New York Knicks All-Star Carmelo Anthony has been a little on edge lately. Earlier this season ‘Melo got into a skirmish with Kevin Garnett allegedly over some Garnett trash talk involving Anthony’s wife Lala that led to Anthony waiting at the Celtics bus to confront Garnett. Sunday, Anthony was at it again, this time smacking Philadelphia [...]
Due to Amar’e Stoudemire’s recent knee surgery, the NY Knicks medical and coaching staffs have agreed to cap the forward’s playing time at 30 minutes per game for the remainder of the season.
“Thirty minutes is his max and whatever damage he does in those 30 minutes, he’ll be out there doing it,’’ Woodson said. “I can’t go over 30 for his sake as far as physical...
The New York Knicks did us all a favor this season by signing Rasheed Wallace, because we should always have his crazy ass involved in the NBA forever and ever until the world ends. Interestingly enough, the apocalypse will be David Stern’s fault, but that’s not related to today’s news. Namely, that Wallace’s season is over. The Knicks are optimistic that Wallace, who is now...
Couldn't find any Tone Loc shirts?
In the pantheon of self-referential t-shirts, this still ranks somewhere below James Caan’s sneaky hilarious “I Made Scott Caan” t-shirt (trust me, that is a real thing — however, evidence of its existence is apparently impossible to find on the Internet), but this is amazing nonetheless.
