You might not be able to tell by his numbers, but J.R. Smith is having arguably the best season of his career. The ultra-talented shooting guard has long been known for his wildness and unpredictability, but this year he has shown at least some discipline in helping the Knicks rise to the top of the Atlantic Division.
Smith is still capable of moments like the one that occurred Monday, though. Early in the second quarter of New York’s win over the Pistons, Smith stepped to the foul line for a pair of free throws. The first shot was nothing but net, which is usually a good thing, but in this case the ball didn’t go through the hoop first.
Announcer Mike Breen was caught off guard by the miss. The Knicks’ play-by-play man interrupted himself by saying, “Did he just throw up and airball?” Color announcer Walt Frazier tried to claim it was a “swish.” On the Knicks bench, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler got in a good laugh, but Knicks coach Mike Woodson was not amused.

Why in the blue hell would the Knicks of all teams think other teams would be afraid of them? They aren’t the Miami Heat, no one fear the Knicks.
They don’t have the type of resume to admire their work in the mirror. They are having a good season, but they have to understand if they continue to think they are better than they are, their playoff stay will be the same as previous...
Last night the New York Knicks hosted the Detroit Pistons, winning the game 99-85. The interesting moment of the game came from Smith, however. Leave it to Smith to make a boring game interesting.
He kept the crowd and his team entertained after shooting an air ball during a free throw attempt. Then Smith tried to crash a scrimmage game against some kids during halftime.
J.R. Smith may cause you inexplicable stress by his shot selection, but dear lord, he is good money when it comes to entertainment value like he did during the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons game Mondat night. I guess its not as embarrassing when your whole team starts laughing at you.
Big kid himself, J.R. Smith, tried to get in on the pee-wee halftime action during halftime of Monday night’s blowout to the Pistons:
Tyson Chandler tied a franchise record with his third straight 20-rebound game, Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points, and the New York Knicks beat the Detroit Pistons 99-85 on Monday night for their fifth consecutive victory.
In a game that was decided early, Chandler played long enough to grab his 20th rebound midway through the fourth quarter. After grabbing 20 in victories on Friday...
I managed to catch up with New York Knicks All-Star center Tyson Chandler after Wednesday’s game against the Washington Wizards. The Knicks loss snapped a five game win streak and a ten game streak over the Wizards. Chandler feels as though all of his teammates weren’t giving a full effort and that the team felt [...]

Prior to this week, Phoenix Coyotes goalie Mike Smith had been growing out his hair for a very long time. As you can see from the photo above on the left, he had one of the raddest hairstyles in the NHL for all of last season and into this year. Many fans will be disappointed to hear that Smith recently cut his hair — until they see his new haircut. The photo above on the right...

New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler has a chance to accomplish something that no NBA player has done in nearly 10 years.

Wizards John Wall’s return to the court has been understated this season, probably because the Wizards season overall has been uneventful. But during Knicks vs. Wizards on Wednesday night, John Wall showed why he’s a player you can’t afford to sleep on. Checkout this play where he blocks Carmelo Anthony from behind and goes coast to coast hits a spin on Jason Kidd for the lay...
