Kobe Bryant is a game-time decision for tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers. The Los Angeles Lakers star sprained his ankle in a game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night, in which he was injured off a fadeaway shot with Dahntay Jones guarding him.
Bryant posted this picture on Thursday of how his ankle looked:
“He’s getting treatment,” Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni said after shootaround Friday. “Obviously he’ll get better every day and we’ll see. When he can go, he’ll go.”
Some say Bryant was expected to miss maybe a week or two with the ankle sprain, but with the Lakers barely clinging onto an eighth-seeded playoff spot, he will be needed badly. It helps if Bryant comes back sooner than expected, especially since Pau Gasol is expected to return very soon as well.
“Sometime Sunday, Monday right through there he’ll be ready to roll, hopefully, with no setbacks,” D’Antoni said.
Tonight’s game versus Indiana will be a big one for LA. We’ll see if they can get through it on the road.

Kobe makes a very valid point by being upset with Dahntay Jones, as undercutting jump shooters has been a huge problem in the NBA for years. Kobe mentioned in his postgame presser that he felt he Dahntay “Jalen Rose’d me,” and it is very true.
