“Black Mamba” is typically the nickname that is given to Los Angeles Lakers star shooting guard Kobe Bryant. But now we have realized why.
According to Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford, he claims that Bryant does a “hiss” sound like a snake does. He does this to call for the ball in games. Crawford revealed this in an interview on Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable.
“When I first played with Kobe — they call him the Black Mamba — but then he was doing like a little snake sound when he wanted the ball,” Crawford said. “It was crazy. It was crazy. It’s like tsssss, tsssss. Like [he was calling former teammate Derek Fisher] Fish, Fish, Fisher. Tsssss, tssss. He do that. Everybody tells you he’s gonna do it before you play him — like, ‘Wait till you hear him do this.’ And then he [does] it, and it’s like, what? He’s really a mamba. It sounds like some kind of snake.”
When Bryant was asked about this on Twitter, he didn’t hide anything.
“@dontcallmerhino:@kobebryant yo @jcrossover said you hiss when you ball him up.How true is that?”that’s how I call for the ball #mambahiss

Kobe Bryant clearly hasn’t always been the most politically correct athlete.
Although Bryant will go down in history as one of the best basketball players ever to lace ‘em up, his resume as a role model is questionable. Back in April of 2011, Bryant was caught on camera calling a referee by a homophobic slur. Them, of course there was that whole alleged rape, cheating on his...
Nearly two years ago, Kobe Bryant was fined $100,000 by the NBA for using a derogatory term for homosexuals when he became upset after receiving a technical foul. Kobe apologized after the incident and insisted his comment was not meant to offend the gay or lesbian community, and has since acknowledged that the outburst was inappropriate.

MIAMI -- The dust certainly didn't settle after the Lakers eked out a win against the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, not when Dwight Howard's father injected himself into his son's awkward relationship with Kobe Bryant.
The elder Howard said his son needed to sit down with Bryant to hash out their differences. He also said Coach Mike D'Antoni wasn't being assertive...
MIAMI A new Kobe Bryant supposedly has emerged in recent weeks for the Los Angeles Lakers. But not for LeBron James.
He believes hes the same old Kobe.
James, the Miami Heat star, couldn't care less that the Lakers star recently had a run of 39 assists in three games and 56 over five. Hes doesnt buy that Bryant all of a sudden has become a facilitator.
Do I buy that? No,...
The Los Angeles Lakers have had their fair share of issues this season. While their injuries and inconsistent play have led to a multitude of questions about the team that have largely gone unanswered, it seems an unlikely source – Dwight Howard‘s father — has at least one answer to their latest controversy.
After Kobe Bryant demanded some urgency from his injured teammate...

Lakers star Kobe Bryant defended his comments that some interpreted as critical about teammate Dwight Howard, saying it's all a "manufactured conflict."
We see great shots all the time from LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Carmelo Anthony--the stars of the NBA. We see some crazy trick shots from the Harlem Globetrotters and the guys from Dude Perfect.
How often do we see them from a high school girl's game though?
Anna Olson from Lewis-Palmer High School in Coloroda heaved this one up. It's almost...

Another week, another bad break for the Lakers.
Despite a promising start to the week with a win in Brooklyn, the Lakers finished the week at just 2-2.
The Lakers endured a blowout loss in Boston, followed by a come-from-behind victory in Charlotte, then concluded the 2013 Grammy Trip with a discouraging loss in Miami.

Today the Knicks had a chance to make statement to the world and to all Knicks fans. This was not their day. The New York Knicks could not stop Chris Paul, Jamal Crawford and the relentless offense of the LA Clippers. The Clipps held down the Knicks, despite Carmelo Anthony’s 42
