Believe it or not, the former Mr. Kim Kardashian is having a solid season. The NBA’s most hated player, Kris Humphries, is averaging a double-double — 13.6 points and 10.7 rebounds — this season and has been one of the few bright spots on a vastly underwhelming Nets squad.

And by being a decent player (who also has an expiring contract) on a horrid team, that makes Humphries somebody contending teams might make a play for before the trade deadline on Thursday. Here’s the problem: Humphries has a no-trade clause in his contract. How Kris Humphries was able to secure a no-trade clause is beyond me. I guess some of that Kardashian business hustling rubbed off.

But here he is explaining whether he would ever drop the no-trade clause with a totally relatable and coherent analogy, via The Star-Ledger:

“Would you jump off a bridge?” Humphries asked reporters who inquired about his willingness to waive the no-trade. “It depends how high the water is (or) if there was a drowning baby in the water. I mean, because you (might) jump off in the summer, if it was warm out, (and) you know the water was deep underneath.

“It’s all circumstantial, is the point I’m trying to make,” he said.

Hey, look, Kim never said she married him for his wit.
