The Denver Nuggets have undergone a lot of upheaval over the past few months, losing Masai Ujiri to the Toronto Raptors while firing George Karl. That followed the Nuggets' decision to trade Carmelo Anthony in 2011. "The hard part of pro sports is staying patient," Josh Kroenke said in a rare sit-down interview. "We need to stay patient enough to evaluate what we have." While many other teams are completely rebuilding, the Nuggets hope to improve their roster while remaining competitive. "If I was a fan, I would want immediate results as well, but my job is to build not only for the short term but the long term," Kroenke said. "Hopefully our fans understand that at some level. And hopefully we've earned a little trust with the Nuggets fans. At the end of the day, we've tried something, and we want to try something else. I hope the fans understand that we're not actively trying to be bad. ... You can fall into an NBA no-man's lan...

Carmelo Anthony says he been too passive during fourth quarters

Carmelo Anthony has never been shy about getting shots up throughout his career. He’s a great scorer who isn’t going to change at this point in his career. After last night’s game though, he said maybe he is being a too passive in the 4th quarter of games this season: “For myself, maybe I’m second-guessing myself as well,” Anthony said Monday after the Knicks’ practice...

It was such a pathetic play. When is #LOLKnicks going...

Timberwolves defense sets sights on Knicks, Carmelo Anthony

Shutting down one of the NBA's elite players put the Minnesota Timberwolves on the cusp of their best start in 12 years. Another strong defensive effort against last season's scoring champion should be enough to achieve that feat. Two days after bottling up Kevin Durant, the Timberwolves will look to shut down Carmelo Anthony and end a four-game slide against the New York...

Carmelo Anthony struggles from the field in loss

Carmelo Anthony has not been the cold-blooded scoring assassin he was to start out last season. Through three games, Anthony is averaging 21.0 points on just 37.7 percent shooting. After missing the game-winner in Chicago Thursday, Anthony started Sunday versus Minnesota 1-of-7 before heating up briefly to help a Knicks comeback that fell short. He finished with 22 points but shot...

Carmelo Anthony admits he’s been “passive”

The New York Knicks have started the season off 1-2 through their first three games, including a tough 82-81 loss to the Chicago Bulls. A game that came down to Derrick Rose making an impossible, late-game floater to put the Knicks on ice. So far, Carmelo Anthony, has given Knicks’ faithful less than they normally expect from Melo late in games. Carmelo only has 15 points and no...

Carmelo Anthony Says Knicks Can’t Go to a “Dark Place”

Melo does know that JR Smith is coming back, so it might only get darker for the Knicks. Melo coming off his 32 points on 28 shots and 2 assists performance in a loss to the Bobcats had this to say. “I believe we’ll get out of this. We’ve got to remain positive. It’s easy to go into a dark place right now,” Anthony said after shooting 10-for-28 against the Bobcats. “It’s...

Bobcats-Knicks Preview

Carmelo Anthony attributes the New York Knicks' early deficits during their slump to being unsure of themselves on the offensive end of the floor, causing miscommunication that is leading to errors. They'll look to get on the same page and end a two-game slide Tuesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats, who are looking to avoid an 18th consecutive road loss. The Knicks...

Now Charles Barkley blames the media for his Carmelo Anthony drama

Charles Barkley started this. Now he’s looking for someone else to blame. When Carmelo Anthony announced he would opt out of his contract on July 1 and become a free agent, Sir Charles, TNT’s NBA studio analyst, was quick to criticize. He delivered his critique of Anthony a few different times, including twice on TNT (Monday/Thursday). Barkley’s rap was basically the same...

Grant Hill: “I didn’t mind guarding LeBron, Melo and KD, but Kobe used to give me problems”

Now that he’s retired, he can speak the truth. In an interview with Bleacher Report to promote the return of “Inside Stuff”, Grant Hill revealed that while he didn’t mind guarding guys like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant was the one player who truly used to give him “problems”: Toughest player to guard: ”Now that I’m retired, I can probably...

The Knicks were blitzed by the T’Wolves in the first quarter, falling behind 40-19 by the time the second quarter was starting courtesy of a 34-5. The Knicks showed some heart and fought...

Report: Irked Dolan wants less dancing

Carmelo Anthony is taking the Knicks' sluggish start to the season in stride. Owner James Dolan, unsurprisingly, is not. Dolan has been known to flip his lid about all kinds of things in the past, but there's a new target for his vitriol now that the Knicks have started the year 1-2, according to the New York Daily News. "Dolan has become such a hands-on owner -- figuratively...

Still early, but Knicks are a mess

It is the fourth game of the season, four out of 82, and logic insists — logic demands — that it is too early to pass judgment on the Knicks, too early to attach too much meaning to a three-game losing streak, too early to do much of anything. Four out of 82. This is still the overture. Only it doesn’t feel that way, does it? “We’re not getting it done right now,” Carmelo...

Knicks Poor Start Costs Them the Win

By Max Marcilla Knicks 100 Wolves 109 Boxscore Summary: The score was close, but the game was ugly, as the Knicks fall to 1-2 on the season. Carmelo Anthony and Iman Shumpert got in early...
