When I’m not engrossed in NBA basketball, one of my favorite hobbies is watching low-budget horror movies (don’t judge me).  For whatever reason, I can’t get enough of the terrible acting, predictable plotlines, and lackluster graphics.  As a matter of fact, I find these movies to be so unintentionally hilarious that I’ve probably seen more of them than I’ve seen normal movies.  Aside from Gladiator, I don’t really even watch normal movies. Years ago, I recall seeing this scifi/horror hybrid flick based on a mythical creature called a Basilisk, which was basically a giant serpent capable of turning people to stone.  Though poorly animated, the Basilisk was pretty badass, really.  All it had to do was look at someone and they’d be petrified. Apparently, Kyrie Irving is a Basilisk.  Don’t believe me?  Look at what he did to Carlos Delfino late in the first quarter of Cleveland’s loss to Houston… Talk about freezing a defender — Kyrie left Delfino stiffer than a damn statue!  In all my years of watching basketball, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a man pirouette so quickly.  Irving, who appeared to be moving in fast forward, was literally crossing halfcourt by the time Delfino realized he’d whiffed on his reach attempt (dead serious; pause the video at :06). Incredible.
