Because of the lockout that lasted 149 days, teams across the NBA are left scrambling to make roster moves in order for preparation of the regular season which gets under way in a few weeks. Luckily for the Suns, they didn’t have a lot of moves to make. Heading into the season, they had nine players already under contract and had very little money to spend on free agents. After the signings of Shannon Brown, Sebastian Telfair and Ronnie Brown, Phoenix roster is pretty much set. The majority of the Suns players under the current roster are comfortable and know Alvin Gentry’s system very well. Steve Nash and Grant Hill are the veterans of the group with Robin Lopez, Jared Dudley and Channing Frye having plenty of time in Gentry’s system over the last several seasons. Marcin Gortat, Josh Childress, Hakim Warrick, Garret Siler and Mickael Pietrus spent last year in a Suns uniform.
