Beyond The Buzzer:
Lakers fans still want Phil. Mike D’Antoni and the Lakers notched their third straight loss Sunday night to the Denver Nuggets at home to bring their record down to .500 in the D’Antoni era. As the losses pile up, fans remain displeased and clamoring for Phil Jackson – who was reportedly never genuinely considered for the head coaching position when Mike Brown was fired. He was reportedly “only approached because Dwight Howard’s representative asked.”
According to the OC Register:
The chant seemed to have been pushed into the Lakers’ past when Mike D’Antoni guided the team to win six of seven games recently.
As the third consecutive loss since then was winding down Sunday night, there it was from Lakers fans at Staples Center: “We want Phil!”
