Following the significant Achilles' injury suffered by Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Kobe Bryant, many question what the future Hall of Famer will be like if he's able to return. Bryant says he won't let the torn Achilles' end his career, but Sports Dr. Ray Solano believes that he doesn't expect him to return to play at 100 percent after undergoing surgery and the recovery and rehab that will follow.Bryant's personal trainer has come out and said that he doesn't believe the injury had to do with the increased minutes the veteran was logging this season. However, Dr. Solano isn't as convinced."Kobe Bryant's injury last Friday was a definite blow to the Lakers. Although many call this a "freak" injury, I question whether his heavy workload contributed to the injury. Kobe has played more than 38 minutes per game, more than any teammate and more than any player in the league over 30. “Achilles' tendon injuries can require many months of rehabilitation and recovery, depending on their severity, and Kobe has enormous mileage on his legs. Because of his mileage, history of knee problems, and age, I don't expect him to return to play at 100%. Kobe will make nearly $30.5 million next season in the final year of his deal and it will be interesting to see where the Lakers go from there."If the Lakers are able to clinch a playoff spot tonight, it will be interesting to see how they are able to do without Bryant.A special thanks to Dr. Solano for taking the time to provide his thoughts on Bryant's injury.
