MVN:
The Lakers currently have 14 players under contract and the 2.7 million trade exception from the Trevor Ariza deal. There has been speculation that the Lakers could use it to sign Chris Webber or package it in a trade for another established player.
My opinion is if the Lakers were going to sign Chris Webber they would have done it already. Knowing the nuances of the triangle is no easy feat and if Webber were the guy; he'd be here already. As the Lakers ponder what to do with the newly acquired exception, they should consider signing Demetris Nichols. He was recently cut by Cleveland in lieu of them matching the Anderson Varajao offer sheet.
