Lakers To Break 95-96 Chicago Bulls Regular Season Wins Record?

CarySmith's Blog:
I'm not even a fan of The Lakers, in fact, very, very far from it. My hatred has nothing to do with anything, except that I'm from the Bay Area and it's fun to hate L.A. teams, plus the "Beat L.A." chant has a certain rhythm and tune to it that seems to be in rhythm with nature. But, saying all of that I cannot deny the fact that the 08-09 Lakers have a pretty damn good team, good enough, in fact, to make me wonder if they can win more than 72 games? which is the current NBA record (.878 -Chicago, 1995-96 (72-10). A starting lineup of Fisher, Kobe, Odom, Gasol and Bynum, with a couple of talented guys like Ariza coming off the bench, Phil Jackson there to coach, and Kobe Bryant coming off his energy of winning a gold medal in China, makes me ask are the 08-09 Lakers good enough for 73 wins? Or is the West just too tough?
*Also a side note. I do not have any secret devious notions to curse the 08-09 Lakers by asking this question...well, maybe a little (;
