MVN:
So who's in a better situation for the next decade, the Boston Celtics or the Los Angeles Lakers? The Celtics haven't won a title in over 20 years but have the leagues best record as we speak, but also one of the leagues older teams. The Lakers won three titles at the beginning of the millennium, but have the third youngest team in the league and are rebuilding on the fly.
The Celtics are clearly one of the favorites to win this years title as they are peaking at a 28-3 record. They have three of the games best in Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. The Celtics have been playing tenacious defense, sharing the ball and have looked liked they have played together for ten years. They also start Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Peterson, two players who have done an excellent job in their respective roles.
Due to the age of the big three, the window of opportunity for the Celtics is about three years depending on injuries. After watching them play, they could potentially win three titles; they're that good. The key will be the development of Rondo and Perkins into top players, as the big three are already at their apex.
