TEAMS: Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunder
Cleveland Cavaliers 95, Boston Celtics 90
Owner Dan Gilbert‘s draft picks are sure looking good, at least against the Boston Celtics. Kyrie Irving, the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, scored 38 points as he was dominating early and late in the game.
He scored 19 points in the first quarter to set the tone for Cleveland and also added 11 points in the final 2:33 of the final quarter to give the Celtics their fourth straight loss.
Tristan Thompson, drafted fourth overall in the 2011 NBA Draft, had one of the best games of the season, getting 21 points and nine rebounds in 40 minutes of playing-time. Cleveland has now won back-to-back games at home for the first time this season.
Detroit Pistons 105, Orlando Magic 90
After leading by two in the first half, the Pistons used a 28-14 run in the third quarter — led by 16 points combined by Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe — to get themselves a 16 point lead and the game. J.J Redick kept the Magic in the first half with 17 points and 6-of-6 shooting.
Milwaukee Bucks 110, Philadelphia 76ers 102
Brandon Jennings scored nine of his 25 points along with three assists in the final quarter to give the Bucks a victory. Despite Philadelphia’s 17-7 run to start the fourth quarter, it wasn’t enough to take the lead. Ersan Ilyasova scored 27 points and 16 rebounds. The Sixers started the game making two out of their first 17 shots, getting to another slow start and trailing by 10 after one.
Oklahoma City Thunder 110, Los Angeles Clippers 102
The Thunder weren’t facing Chris Paul when going against the Clippers, but it was still a very tough game. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored all but five of the Thunder’s 27 in the fourth quarter.
The Thunder were winning by 12 to start the period. But every single time the Clippers tried cutting the lead, Durant or Westbrook had an answer. The Thunder made 15-of-27 three-pointers for the game. Blake Griffin had 31 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who will now play 10 out of their next 11 games on the road.

Kyrie Irving Selected As Eastern Conference All-Star Reserve
His name was the last one that flashed on the TNT screen, but Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is heading to Houston for his first All-Star game. Irving becomes just the 7th NBA All-Star selection under the age of 21, a list that includes Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, and Shaquille O’Neal.
Other selections from the East were Phiadelphia’s...
Kyrie Irving's 40 points lift Cavs past Celtics
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Kyrie Irving scored 15 of his 40 points in the fourth quarter, including several key late baskets, to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 95-90 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
Irving scored 11 points in the final 2:33 on four layups and three free throws to give Cleveland back-to-back wins at home for the first time this season and send Boston to...
Cavalier Film Room: Smash Mouth Kyrie Irving
When we last got together, I was pretty hard on Tyler Zeller for his poor defensive rebounding. This week, given the performance and news last night, it’s a must to further break down All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving’s second 40-point performance of the season.
Kyrie scored 40 while taking just 24 shots as he willed the young Cavaliers to victory over the veteran Celtics, a...
On Kyrie's All-Star selection and Tristan's Bobblehead night
I was old enough to remember how rare it actually is to employ an NBA All-Star in Cleveland.
Otherwise, maybe he would’ve been right.
Maybe I would have been spoiled by the last great All-Star to wear Cleveland across his chest.
I appreciated his brilliance then, though, just as much as I appreciate Kyrie Irving’s now. Irving’s inclusion on the 2013 All-Star team...
Bucks look to match season-long win streak
The Milwaukee Bucks just gave their general manager a three-year extension, they're 6-2 under an interim coach and they're about to face a team they have mostly beaten of late.
If Kyrie Irving plays near the level he did his last time out, though, the Cleveland Cavaliers can hardly be overlooked.
The Bucks look to match their longest winning streak of the season at four...
Box Score: Celtics 90, Cavaliers 95
Boston came into this game hurting. Losers of 3 straight, the Celtics surely looked at this game in Cleveland as a prime opportunity to get things back on track. Kyrie Irving had other ideas.
“Mr 4th Quarter” disguised himself as “Mr 1st Quarter” in this one as he came out looking to make a statement against the East’s All-Star starting PG Rajon Rondo. Irving was aggressive...
Cavaliers 95, Celtics 90
CLEVELAND -- Point guard Kyrie Irving fired in a game-high 40 points in the Cavaliers' 95-90 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday at Quicken Loans Arena. The loss was the Celtics' fourth in a row. Irving, gunning for a spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team, was 16 of 24 from the field, 1 of 3 from behind the arc and 7 of 7 from the foul line. It was the second...

Dan Gilbert’s Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly worth $434 million. This report comes from the annual “Business of Baseketball” report issued by Forbes. The Cavaliers, per this amount, rank 16th among the 30 teams in the NBA. Kyrie Irving and Luol Deng added to NBA All-Star Rosters
By Wayne Bumpass – Thursday night, reserves for the 62nd NBA All-Star game were announced on TNT and not one, but two former Duke Blue Devils were selected. Luol Deng and Kyrie Irving will both be taking their talents to Houston, Texas next month for the NBA’s annual event. The big game will be aired on TNT at 8:30 p.m. ET on Feb. 17. Head coaches from all 30 NBA teams...
Bucks' Jennings snubbed from All-Star game
Jennings had the best chance of breaking the streak, but the fourth-year point guard won't be making his first All-Star appearance. The 23-year-old is averaging 18.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, a career-best 5.8 assists and career-best 2.0 steals per game.
Instead, Eastern Conference coaches chose Philadelphia point guard Jrue Holiday and Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving as the reserve...
Boston Celtics Remain Consistent With Inconsistency in Four-Game Span
It seems as though the Boston Celtics are right where they started–square one.
This season has been full of incomplete performances by Doc Rivers’ group, but especially when it comes to Tuesday’s loss against Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers (11-32). Granted Irving did post a 40-point performance, but there should be no excuse for the players to display...

The Starting Lineup: Durant, Irving Brutalize Clippers, Celtics
Unfortunately, Chris Paul’s absence leaves us with not much to take away from Tuesday night’s feature matchup between the West-leading Thunder and second-place Clippers. Thankfully, however, Kevin Durant was so kind as to make the event very much worth watching. Hopefully you didn’t give up on him at halftime, when he only had eight points, because he finished with an impressive...
