Here we go again. It looks like the Boston Celtics have lost another player, as veteran guard Leandro Barbosa could miss the entire season.
CSNNE reports:
The severity of the injury is unclear, but it certainly had the look of an injury that will sideline the veteran for a significantly long period of time – maybe even the entire season.
The injury was severe enough to where Barbosa could not get up on his own when it happened. Instead he had to be helped off the floor by teammate and fellow native of Brazil, Fab Melo, along with team trainer Ed Lacerte.
Barbosa suffered a non-contact injury to his left knee during the third quarter of Boston’s 94-91 defeat against the Charlotte Bobcats. Barbosa’s injury puts the Celtics in a tough spot, having already lost point guard Rajon Rondo. The Celtics were adjusting to life without him, but now they are left with only three guards on their roster.
Barbosa was driving to the basket while being guarded by Bobcats guard Gerald Henderson. He made a pivot move, passed the ball to a teammate and immediately started limping. The former Sixth Man of the Year will have a MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity of his injury, however Kevin Garnett told the media after the game that Barbosa was out for the season.
The 30-year-old had an up-and-down season but was starting to play really well since he was given more minutes due to Rondo’s absence. The “Brazilian Blur” was averaging about five points per game while playing an average of 12 minutes, but he elevated his stats to abut nine points and three assists per game after the Rondo injury.
This will be the third player to be out for the season on Boston, as rookie big man Jared Sullinger will also miss the rest of the season.

The Great Debate: Rondo-less C's
Our Boston Celtics have not lost a game since the double OT loss in Atlanta on January 25th. It was the last game Rajon Rondo has played this season, and likely the last NBA game he will play until some point in the 2013-2014 NBA season. Seven straight wins. No Rajon Rondo (or Jared Sullinger). How has this been possible without our best player, and one of the best and most unique...

Celtics on 7-game roll - even without Rondo
Things appeared pretty grim for the Boston Celtics just a few weeks ago.
Rajon Rondo went down with a torn knee ligament, and the team's playoff hopes took a major hit.
Well, the Celtics haven't lost in the seven games since and their latest victory proved they're going to be tough to beat - even without their star point guard. Paul Pierce had 27 points, 14 rebounds...
The Celtics aren’t better without Rondo, just more sure
Paul Pierce and the Celtics have had a chance to show their toughness with Rondo out
The Boston Celtics won their seventh straight game Sunday, this one a triple overtime epic against the Denver Nuggets. What Barbosa’s MRI Results Mean for the C’s
Boy, the Boston Celtics just can’t catch a break this year.
They win six games in a row… only to lose their next six. They lose Rajon Rondo for the rest of the season… only to lose Jared Sullinger two games later. They run off a surprising seven-game win streak, beating the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets… only to have it snapped by the cellar-dwelling...

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo may be out for the season with a torn ACL, but that doesn't mean he's gonna just sit at home.

Celtics Remain in Playoff Hunt Despite Growing List of Injuries
