Beyond The Buzzer:
The Miami Heat are now 0-5 against the Top 4 teams in the Eastern Conference (Knicks (0-2), Bulls (0-1), Pacers (0-2)) – and 0-2 to the Indiana Pacers, losing to them by a combined 23 points this season. Ray Allen was held scoreless for just the 2nd and 3rd time in his 17-year career in 2 contests vs. the Pacers this season – but LeBron James and the Heat don’t seem to be concerned about their struggles against the elite teams in the East.
According to Shandel Richardson, Sun Sentinel:
“We don’t need victories versus top-four teams to prove what we’re capable of doing,” James said. “We don’t need them. We’d love to have them, but we don’t need them.”
“We’re not worried about that,” James said. “We don’t put too much into losing a game or winning a game. We want to get better from those games.” (VIDEO)
Dwyane Wade postgame video:
“I’m glad we could bring the best out of them (laughs).”
BEST OF MAXIM
LeBron James may be arguably the best player in the NBA today, but he is not the highest paid. In fact, he’s not even in the top 10 this season. LeBron will make $17.5 million this season, which is tied for 13th in the league and more than $10 million less than the $27.8 million Kobe Bryant will make. LeBron took less money to go to the Miami Heat for a chance to play with Dwyane...
Lebron James is arguably the best player in the NBA, and has been for the last several years. What does that mean in terms of money…usually max contacts. James tells ESPN, that under the new collective bargaining agreement he doesn’t believe it is possible for him to get market value so he says he’s been willing to “sacrifice.”
“What I do on the floor shows...

LeBron James wants you to appreciate the fact that’s he’s never taken a max deal in his 10 year NBA career. He wants you to understand that he’s sacrificed his personal finances to win and he never gets credit for that fact.
“I have not had a full max deal yet in my career — that’s a story untold,” James said.
“I don’t get (the credit) for it...
LeBron James doesn’t think it’s possible to be paid his actual value under the current NBA rules. Because of it he said he’s been willing to sacrifice on his contracts. ”What I do on the floor shows my value. At the end of the day, I don’t think my value on the floor can really be compensated for anyways because of the (collective bargaining agreement),” said James...
TORONTO -- As he so often does, LeBron James took over Sunday's game late in the fourth quarter, and he did it in a variety of ways. His rebound and pass set up a big 3-pointer from the corner by Chris Bosh to put the Miami Heat ahead by seven points. Then James stole a pass by Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry and took it the other way for a driving dunk, putting the...

Not even LeBron James and the prolific Miami Heat offense could overcome the stifling defense of the Indiana Pacers when the teams faced each other in early January.
Indiana seeks a third straight regular-season victory over visiting Miami when the Eastern Conference's top defense meets its highest-scoring offense Friday night.
The only time...
If he’s not worried then why justify it?
TORONTO – LeBron James had 30 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead the Miami Heat to a 100-85 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday before a crowd of 19,800 at Air Canada Centre. Former Raptor Chris Bosh added 25 points and Dwyane Wade had 23 for the Heat who have defeated the Raptors 10 straight times. Rudy Gay led Toronto with 29 points while DeMar DeRozan...
Doc Rivers reaffirmed why O.J. Mayo didn’t become a Celtic last season.
On WEEI Thursday morning, Doc Rivers said Memphis backed out of the deal that that would have swapped Mayo for Ray Allen.
Doc on old Ray/Mayo deal: "Memphis pulled plug, not us. … O.J.'s so much younger. That's a trade we really thought we had to look at hard."— Ben Rohrbach (@brohrbach...
Today, Super Bowl Sunday, the Raptors will play hosts to LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, the now Raptor fan-vilified Chris Bosh, and the Miami Heat. Once the two teams hit the court I expect the hospitality to end there. This marks the second of 2 straight BIG tests for the Toronto Raptors and their latest acquisition - Rudy Gay! Rudy's Toronto debut was nothing less than a show for...
