Jocks and Stiletto Jill:
The World All-Star Classic, a six-game, two-week, four-continent tour, is already down a few superstars. After this morning’s announcement of participants, dates and locations, LeBron James shared with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he would not be participating in the event. In fact, he says that he never committed to the tour. The reason he gave for not participating was that he’d prefer to spend that time with his family and training.
It’s also being announced that Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul have opted not to participate either. The timing of this is curious as the NBA and the Union are currently in meetings and are rumored to be inching towards an agreement. The three stars pulling out of the tour doesn’t necessarily mean that a deal is that close to fruition but it does raise hope that perhaps they know something we don’t yet. Add to that the fact that Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook also pulled out recently… well let’s just say prayers up!

As another day winds down with no deal – sources say talks broke down on the BRI with the owners at 50 and the players at 52 percent – we found ourselves watching one of the better performances from last year’s playoffs: a 42 and 17 night from Carmelo Anthony, nearly beating the Celtics in [...]

You may recall a post entitled Carmelo Anthony: From Swagged-Out To Swag-Less which I submitted on the 16th of September. It chronicled Melo’s transformation from a hip hop era fashion icon into one of Kanye West’s hipster disciples. Anyway, Melo continues his journey down this questionable fashion path… here he is wearing leopard-print slip-ons at GQ’s Gentleman’s...
At this time last year, NBA fans were busy with predictions of how far the Big Three – LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade – would take the Miami Heat. The hatred from the majority of fans burned bright into the preseason and overflowed into every away game that the Big Three had to face. Miami fans helped sell out opponent arenas all over the country, to the point...

LeBron was quite busy on the Twitter machine yesterday, as he made fun of his own hairline, shouted out SLAM for ranking him as the top player in the L, and even threw in a bit of playful recruiting/tampering:
“Would love to see [Jamal Crawford] in a Heat uni! What u guys say?”
“Maybe @SteveNash in a Heat uni! So we can help each other get our 1st ring”
