David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers are on a really bad losing skid right now, having lost 10 of their last 14 games to fall to 27-18 on the season. The team’s embarrassing 148-124 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday marked the first time since 1980 that an opposing team had scored that many points against it at home.

LeBron James, who entered the contest needing 25 points to reach the 30,000-point plateau, was pulled early in the fourth quarter as it was readily apparent the Cavs had no chance to win. Because of that, the King still has seven more to go, which is a surprise, to say the least.

After the blowout loss, James was asked about whether he thinks head coach Tyronn Lue should be fired. Not surprisingly, he stuck up for his coach. But his answer also tells us he’s not sure what the heck is going to happen next.

Something needs to happen to help the Cavaliers turn things around. There have been plenty of rumors that the team is looking into adding veterans like DeAndre Jordan and George Hill in trades. But at this point who knows it those additions will help?

It’s going to be fascinating to see what happens next in Cleveland. One thing that seems inevitable, however, is that whatever happens next, it’s likely the last season we see James playing for his hometown team, at least until he becomes a free agent again following the upcoming summer.
