Jason WhitneyLeBron said he could lead the league in scoring if he wanted to
LeBron James as we all know won his first NBA championship last year and topped it off with an Olympic gold medal. Then started this season on a rampage, scoring at least 20 points in each of his first 23 games to become the first player to accomplish such a feat since Karl Malone did it in 1989. More recently, Lebron hasn’t been whistled for a foul in five consecutive games. Most players can’t go five consecutive minutes without being called for a foul.
Despite these great accolades, James actually has averaged the least amount of points per game since his rookie year when he dropped 20.9 points a game. James ranks fifth in scoring with 25.2 points per game behind Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and James Harden this year, so he’s still dropping buckets. LeBron already has a scoring title to his name when he dropped 30 points a game back in 2007-2008 NBA season, but nevertheless James stated his feelings on leading the league in scoring.

If James could shoot the ball that much, the scoring title would be his, James believes.
“If I wanted to, I could lead the league in scoring, but that’s not my job here,” James said.
James said his job isn’t to just jack shots, it’s to do all the little things like rebound, pass and defend. James also reiterated that he could have the scoring record if he really wanted it. His coach, Erik Spoelstra backed him up saying LeBron could average 37 points a game.
“My job is to do a lot of everything — rebounding, passing and defending so that takes away from my scoring. I’ve done (the scoring title) before. I’m capable of doing it, but my game sometimes doesn’t allow me to have those big nights.”
“He could average 37 points a game, realistically I think,” said Spoelstra.
“I’m shooting 54 percent from the field right now, so if I shoot 54 percent at 25 shots a game? Pff, that’s like … doing my math … that’s 27 points right there. That’s without shooting free throws and shooting 42 percent from the 3-point line.”
If he maintained those percentages, the scoring title would likely be his.
“I could do it if I wanted to,” James reiterated.

I'm thinking anyone in the NBA could lead the league in scoring if they wanted to, it just wouldn't be team ball.If you're good enough to make it to the NBA(rebounder or musclemen not included)you're capable of leading in scoring. If you take all of the shots and don't include your teammates. Not saying your team would win but you will have points.
