The draft was effing crazy (and we’ll get into more on that, I promise), but the big news that reshaped the NBA landscape last night was the Boston Celtics deciding to gut their team…and do it in the most cruel and idiotic way possible, by sending their “beloved” stars to Brooklyn. Couple things: 1st, you couldnt get any more for these guys than Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, MarShon Brooks and Keith Bogans? Oh, and 3 1st rounders that’ll be in the teens or 20s? Again, when you’re holding a poker hand of valuable assets, you might wanna, you know, see what the other offers look like. Just a suggestion.
And 2nd – the Nets? This is the funny part. KG and Pierce wanted to go to the Clippers. Badly. And I’ve been told a few other squads. But instead the Celts rewarded 2 of their most beloved players by sending them to a mediocre team that Jay Z no longer is a part of. It’ll be a fun 2nd round exit next year guys. Enjoy the bitter pill Boston just shoved down your throats.
