North Carolina’s Rashad McCants is leaving the D-League’s Texas Legends and signing with a club in China after the Legends’ parent team, the Dallas Mavericks, couldn’t assure McCants he’d have a spot on the team.
Said Legends co-owner Donnie Nelson: “Although my personal feeling is the D-League is the quickest, most direct path to the NBA, I wish him nothing but the very best. He’s been a true professional and the Legends will retain his rights in the event he elects to return.”
