A great opportunity rose tonight as New Jersey was playing short-handed and their All-Star, Deron Williams, skipped the game to be with his wife, as she was giving birth to their fourth child. The loss, however, gives the Warriors a 2-5 mark during this seven game road trip. An OK night from the starters but it wasn’t enough to beat the Nets. Brooke Lopez finished the night 26 points and 10 rebounds, two of his points no bigger than in the last three seconds of the game, as he completed two free throws to complete the game.

As for the Warriors, David Lee finished with 17 points and 10 boards while Monta Ellis had a so-so night and ended up with 16 points. His back court, Steph Curry finished the night 15 points and Reggie Williams only had 10 off the bench.

The Warriors were within grasp as they outscored the Nets in the third quarter but were only limited to only 13 points in the fourth quarter. Back to back to back defensive stops the Nets made and the Warriors were unable to convert to go ahead or tie at the end of the fourth. Ellis still had a chance to tie the game but his shot came up short and the Warriors had to foul Lopez.
