Rapper Lil’ Wayne frequently attends NBA games, but he says he was denied by the team when he tried going to Game 3 of the Western Conference finals between the Thunder and Spurs in Oklahoma City on Thursday: Was going to go to the Thunder game tonight but was denied by the team to be in their arena. Wow. Smh. Go Spurs! — Lil Wayne WEEZY F (@LilTunechi) May 31, 2012 It’s unclear what led to his apparent denial, but Weezy is known to have had beef with athletes in the past. If that wasn’t the case here, then maybe the team was sold out and couldn’t do him any special favors. When did he ask for tickets, like two hours before game time? You have to be T. Boone Pickens if you’re trying to pull strings like that in OKC. H/T @Jose3030
  • Boo hoo po Mr. Weezy, he couldn't get tickets to a Thunder game boo hoo. He and a whole lota other folks couldn't get tickets either. I don't know how they do things in Los Angeles, but this is Oklahoma city. Pouting and temper tantrums from privelidged celebrities may get results from the Lakers, but to take a seat from someone and give it to Mr. Weezy, a johnny come lately who only wants to be there because suddenly a Thunder game is the place to be...Well that just don't seem right.
  • Lil wayne what a joke you are, you are nothing but thug wantabe.
  • Lil' Ken couldn't get in either cause I could not get a ticket.

This ‘James Harden Beard Forecast’ comic strip is funny because it’s true

Ha. As you can see, the above comic strip speculates that Oklahoma City Thunder guard James Harden is turning into Mr. T.  And in a way, I can really see that happening. And I pity the fool who doesn’t find that amusing. But seriously, folks, the above comic strip really takes the (James Harden Nightmare [...]

Post game style – Russell Westbrook & Kevin Durant

I fear that the days of showcasing what Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are wearing in postgame are slowly waning. The Thunder was dropped by the Spurs in game two of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday night. Postgame for the two – who along with James Harden combined to score 88 points and still [...]

POTD 5/29/12: Tim Duncan on Serge Ibaka

Two games into the Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder find themselves in a bit of a predicament.  Down 0-2, they face the daunting task of beating a team that’s won 20 in a row four times in five games.  To make matters worse, they’ve yet to find an effective defensive lineup.  Kendrick Perkins is too slow, and Serge Ibaka… well, Tim Duncan tends to make...

The Myth of Sam Presti

On June 7, 2007, Sam Presti took over basketball operations in Seattle. The team was dreadful, their two best players wanted out, and Seattle was about to lose the team. Fast forward five years, and the Thunder is playing in its second straight Western Conference Finals. To say that Sam Presti has done a poor job would be laughable. However, for some reason, he seems to be “untouchable”...

Lil Wanye was not allowed into the Oklahoma City Thunder game

Spurs/OKC Fans Brawl During Game 2

<a href="" class="moshare-button-hor" data-channel="wordpress-1.2.8" data-message="In last night's game two of the San Antonio Spurs-Oklahoma City Thunder Western Conference Finals, some fans got into in the stands. Whether it was frustration on the OKC fans' part or just pure drunkenness (highly likely...

Spurs matchup creates big trouble for Thunder

Thanks to the Oklahoma City Thunder, we're now tragically aware of a Nerd Chic movement digging its frightening tentacles into the NBA. (Our advised response for commissioner David Stern: Go Dress Code Red.) The Thunder also provided evidence that the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers could stand to hire a few more quick employees. And they've reminded us how astute...

OKC Mayor Mick Cornett clowns Charles Barkley in a video he made

Oklahoma City is thrilled with their Thunder these days. The fans all wear the same t-shirts to every home game, and stand cheering in unison until their faces are more blue than Kevin Durant's uniform. That energy helped OKC get a much needed win over the Spurs last night, to cut San Antonio's lead in that series to 2 games to 1, and the city will remain electric leading...

Kevin Durant threw down over Tim Duncan

Kinda. Duncan pretty much decided to go off to the side, rather than take Durant head on. There wasn’t much he could, anyway. The Oklahoma City Thunder ran the Spurs out of the building last night, and reminded everyone that they are a pretty darn good basketball team. The San Antonio Spurs still lead the [...]

Thunder dominate Spurs for Game 3 win

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Kevin Durant scored 22 points, Thabo Sefolosha set playoff career-bests with 19 points and six steals, and the Oklahoma City Thunder snapped San Antonio's 20-game winning streak by beating the Spurs 102-82 in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals on Thursday night. Oklahoma City closed its series deficit to 2-1 and will host Game 4 on Saturday night....

'Yapp' with Project Spurs on SportsYapper

Last night I tried out SportsYapper for the San Antonio Spurs-Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals and I must admit, it was one fun experience. Imagine getting texts to your mobile device, cell phone or tablet from Spurs fans from all over the world who are on SportsYapper. No need to sort through Twitter hashtags anymore to catch the action with your friends...

Top 5 Plays from the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs

1. Kevin Durant Dunks on Andrew Bynum-The Oklahoma City Thunder just destroyed the Los Angeles Lakers in their 1st game in the Western Conference semi-finals. The Thunder cruised to a 29 point victory and in the blow out they had many highlight plays. The best play of the night goes to Thunder superstar Kevin Durant who threw a monster dunk on one of the best shot blockers...

The Thunder Beat The Spurs, And They Couldn’t Have Done It Without Thabo Sefolosha

Fifty days it had been since San Antonio last tasted defeat… back when the since-eliminated Lakers got 30 rebounds from Andrew Bynum and 26 points from Metta World Peace.  That almost seems like a season ago, and I think the fact that the Spurs promptly bounced back and took care of the Lakers by a 24-point margin makes it feel as though the streak lasted even longer. If you...
