The Silver Dancers for the San Antonio Spurs

It’s a shame that the Spurs just aren’t the same dominant team they used to be.  I guess that happens when players age.   I mean it’s a shame for the fans in San Antonio.  I for one couldn’t care less.    Tim Duncan has had his rings and the new crop of talent is just a little much for these guys today. Still though,  they’re an above average...

Ginobili named to 2012 Argentinian Olympic squad

San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili has been officially named to the 2012 Argentinian Olympic squad. Manu and Argentina won the FIBA Americas tournament this past summer capturing gold earning a birth at the London games this summer. Manu will be joined by fellow NBA players and countrymen Luis Scola, Andres Nocioni, and Carlos Delfino. Also making the team are Hernan Jasen, Pablo...

Spurs Road Defense Still Pathetic

San Antonio Spurs defense is still downright pathetic when playing on the road. Last night, the New Orleans Hornets, who before last night had not broke the 100 point barrier before last night, broke that barrier against the Spurs last night. Tim Duncan was able to save the Spurs with a great running hook shot last night, but it was not very pretty. The Spurs did a lot of things...

Paul Castro breaks radio streak with television broadcast tonight

San Antonio Spurs Spanish play-by-play announcer Paul Castro usually goes through the same routine on game nights. He starts with an early dinner followed by some prep work and research with engineer Bruno Gonzalez before his game broadcast goes live on KCOR 1350 AM. Tonight it all changes as Castro will now go from behind the mic to in front of the camera, as the Spurs start their...

Spurs 105, Hawks 83

Matt Bonner and DeJuan Blair both scored 17 points, and the San Antonio Spurs handed the surging Atlanta Hawks their first lopsided loss of the season, 105-83 on Wednesday night. Tiago Splitter added 16 points for the Spurs, who relished a convincing win over the Southeast Division leaders after losing two of their previous three and barely squeaking past woeful New Orleans on Monday...

How the San Antonio Spurs Beat the New Orleans Hornets Last Night

San Antonio was able to secure a win on the road against the New Orleans Hornets, though it was not pretty. The Spurs were able to win because of four key contributors last night that played a huge role in how things played out. Road wins are never easy, but they should not be this hard for the Spurs to come by. Now that the Spurs have won two road games, hopefully they will be...

Spurs-Heat most watched 'Fan Night' of the season

Turns out people do like watching the San Antonio Spurs afterall. Or they really like watching the Miami Heat. Either way, according to TV By The Numbers the Heat-Spurs match up from last week registered as NBA TV's most watched Fan Night yet. "NBA TV’s Tuesday Fan Night matchup (Jan. 17), featuring the San Antonio Spurs vs. Miami Heat, delivered 496,000 households,...

Spurs-Timberwolves Preview

As the San Antonio Spurs begin a three-game road trip, they continue to place an emphasis on limiting Tim Duncan's minutes. The Spurs, though, may need all the frontcourt help they can muster against Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Love, who posted one of his NBA-high 17 double-doubles in a victory over the Spurs earlier this month, has been red-hot in his last two...
