Derek Rose sat out of the game versus the Washington Wizards due to a toe injury but that didn’t keep the Bulls from having strong production from the point guard position. John Lucas got the nod for the injured Rose and exceeded expectations with 25 points with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. This was his first game with extensive playing time this year and he took advantage of it and opened the door to more opportunity for playing time, and maybe even interest from other teams that need point guard help. The game was a rather low scoring affair as the Bulls defeated the Wizards 78-64 as both teams struggled with shooting from the floor. The Bulls shot 36.7% from the floor but that is good compared to the 31% that the Wizards shot. This game was also closer because of the Bulls struggles from the foul line, shooting only 9-16 from the line.
