Though Philadelphia has struggled with Orlando in recent years, a visit from the reeling Magic might provide the 76ers with a good chance to match their longest winning streak of the season. Hoping to further take advantage of a favorable stretch on their longest homestand of the season, the 76ers look for a third straight victory while trying to send the Magic to their second 10-game skid in less than two months Monday night. With consecutive victories over Washington and Sacramento, Philadelphia (20-26) has a chance to win three straight for the first time since Nov. 25-30. Though their latest victories came against two of the NBA's worst teams, the 76ers continue to build confidence while starting 3-1 on an eight-game homestand. "I think we are in a good place right now and have some momentum," center Spencer Hawes said. "Guys are playing well with one another and we have to keep translating that into wins." Thaddeus Young had 23 points with 15 rebound...

Video: Nick Young’s 360 dunk

Tweet   Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard Nick Young is a player who at some point will probably drive you crazy if he’s on your favorite team. More often than not it’s because of his tendency to sometimes have less-than-desirable shot selection. Every now and then he will break out a spectacular play though, like this [...]

Jameer Nelson left Friday's game with a left forearm contusion

The Orlando Magic will be without its starting backcourt Saturday. Arron Afflalo (calf) and Jameer Nelson (forearm) are both out, according to Magic beater writer Josh Robbins. X-rays were negative on Nelson's arm, the Orlando Sentinel reported. This is the fourth game Afflalo has missed. No word on when he's expected back. E'Twaun Moore will need to pick up the...

J.J. Redick latest added to Magic injury list

When it rains, it pours. Late in Saturday's game against Milwaukee, J.J. Redick appeared to be favoring his shoulder as he went to the bench late in the game. Redick had to fight off Monta Ellis for most of the night but it appeared that his foray into the paint is what knicked him this time. And it appears it got him a little bit harder than initially believed. John...

76ers limit short-handed Magic to 61 points

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia 76ers won a game they were "supposed to win" Monday night, in the estimation of coach Doug Collins. But they lost a player they could ill afford to lose. Spencer Hawes had 21 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, as the Sixers sent the short-handed Orlando Magic to its 10th straight loss, 78-61, at the Wells Fargo Center. But the Sixers...

Comments from the Other Side - Magic 2/1

What would a Comments post be without a wheelchair mention and some officiating complaints.   Seems like they are in every thread.  Love that our bench is producing so well these past few games.   I was stuck with the Magic feed last night.  I missed Mike and Tommy but even worse, they kept getting the names of the Celtics wrong.   I've highlighted my favorites.  What...

Big improvements, big challenges after Magic lose to Bucks

Jacque Vaughn says despite it all -- another nine-game losing streak, and losing now 19 of the past 21 games -- his team is approaching the game positively. They are actively trying to solve the problems facing them and buying in to the offense and defense they are playing. There is not any quit in this team, even as they tumble down the standings. Whether this is coach-speak...

Banged-up Magic fall short in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Missing three-fifths of their regular starting lineup, the Orlando Magic could have been easy pickings for a surging Milwaukee Bucks team looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
