The Orlando Magic (15-36) have snapped their longest losing streak in nearly a decade; they’d lost twelve straight before Monday night’s game. With a 110 – 104 final score, it took a bit over two hours to extend the Portland Trail Blazers’ (25-26) streak to three ‘Ls’ in a row; they are in the midst of their second longest road trip of the year, and things are going to get worse in a hurry–as they’re facing the Miami Heat (34-14) tonite.

Leading up to this month’s NBA trade deadline, it appeared all but a sure bet that the Orlando Magic would trade J.J. Redick. While it’s been reported that multiple teams, including the Chicago Bull, Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, are interest in Redick, the Magic have told the sharpshooter that they’re not “actively trying to move” him, reports Josh...
The Magic were too determined to lose this one.
Not after going through 12 games of bitter disappointment and strong play let down by momentary lapses. Not after seeing so many guys go down to injury and so many leads dissipate or margins grow.
The losing streak has been frustrating to watch. The Magic have had opportunities slip away and the team was clearly not satisfied...
Andrew Nicholson has never been a flashy player. If he were, he might have gained the interest of bigger college programs and been on a much bigger stage.
Instead, the steady post player toiled his trade quietly and consistently at St. Bonaventure for four years. That has always been Nicholson's way it seemed. He came to basketball relatively late.
When he got to Orlando...

One of the bigger questions for the Magic entering the season was how would the team defend?
Offense was predictably going to be a problem without a player who could create his own shot consistently unless someone really stepped up. Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, Glen Davis and J.J. Redick have each taken turns carrying the offensive load. But there have been plenty of games where...

There are few more loathesome things on television than primetime cable news, except for possibly Toddlers & Tiaras and First Take. In fact, primetime cable news is pretty much everything terrible about everything on television...
