The Magic have signed free agent guard Ronnie Price, giving them another veteran reserve in their backcourt.
Team officials announced the signing on Thursday. If Price serves in a point guard capacity, he will likely be the Magic's third option behind starter Jameer Nelson and possibly rookie Victor Oladipo, if he continues to successfully transition to the position in the NBA as he showed the potential to do during summer league play.
Price, 30, appeared in 39 games last season with Portland and is joining the fifth NBA team of his eight-year career. Price was undrafted in 2005, but has since appeared in 394 career games with Sacramento, Utah, Phoenix and Portland.
He has career averages of 3.5 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds.

Four summer league games did not settle whether Victor Oladipo will play point guard during his first regular season in the NBA.
But Oladipo likely showed enough promise to convince Orlando Magic officials to keep testing him at the new position during training camp and the preseason.
"I don't think we know really right now where it's headed" said James Borrego...
Orlando Magic forward Glen Davis underwent surgery earlier this month to replace a screw in his left foot, the same foot that required a procedure during the season after he broke it at the end of January. Following the recent procedure, the Magic are not sure when they can expect Davis to be back and available, as there’s a possibility that the big man won’t be ready for the...
If this is not a sign of how slow things are with the Magic, I don't know what is. But here I am posting this (better than posting the latest J.J. Redick/TMZ story. . . honestly, I have made a news judgment not even to talk about it, this is probably the only mention you will see of it).
Back to what we are really talking about.

We are nearly at the end of July and, for the most part, the NBA's offseason is for all intent and purposes over. The biggest names have new or old homes and the NBA is preparing for its slowest month and a half of the year (especially without the Olympics).
There will not be actual basketball to write about until Eurobasket tips off in Slovenia on September 4. Nikola Vucevic...
