Dwight Howard had an acrimonious departure from the Orlando Magic. Naturally with his debut as a visitor in Orlando nearing (March 12), shots are already being fired across the country. "My team in Orlando was a team full of people who nobody wanted," said Howard in a video interview with CBS2KCAL9. "I was the leader and I led that team with a smile on my face." Howard and the Magic advanced to the NBA Finals in 2009, losing to Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Former teammate and current Magic point guard Jameer Nelson took exception to Howard's characterization. "At some point, when are you gonna as a man, when are you going to take ownership and stay out of the media in a professional manner?" asked Nelson to the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday. "I would be less of a man to comment on certain things that people comment on about me and my teammates," Nelson continued. "We had a great run as a group, as core guys, and he was a part of it and for him to say things about anybody in a negative manner, that's up to him." Howard was traded to the Lakers over the off-season after a lengthy process of uncertainty with the Magic. "That's his opinion," Nelson said. "If that's how he feels, that's how he feels." The Magic are 17-44 this season but they did beat the Lakers and Howard at Staples Center in December 113-103. -Eric Pincus

Howard says he could've sat out year until now

OKLAHOMA CITY Did Dwight Howard rush his way back into the Lakers' lineup? He had back surgery last April, was traded to the Lakers in August and started his comeback by playing two exhibition games last November. Dwight Howard: I led a team in Orlando that was full of players nobody wanted

Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard was once one of the most beloved players in the NBA, but somewhere along the line he became a phony. Or, should we say, that became the public perception of Superman. Howard has battled critics all season long in LA. Most of them are the same critics who have been riding him since he was a member of an Orlando Magic team that was heading in...

Dwight Howard, Meet Foot In Mouth

I felt the need to chronicle all these crazy things Dwight Howard has said recently.  He should quit basketball and become a politician with his consistent flip flopping. It took his sane teammates, who have things in the right perspective to come out and embarrass him in front of his peoples, if he has any left. Dwight started this off with comments that were down right wrong...

Following Wednesday night’s comeback win against the Pelicans (Hornets) – yes, I’m practicing saying this now...

The "Not In My House" Block of the Night Brought to You By Dwayne Wade

Next to dunks the most dominant show of force is often the block. Now I know that every blockis not rejected into the seats, but tthey are still among some of the best momentum turning or building plays in the game. Plus they just look cool. So in the near future I think I might start making this a regular feature here at FatManWriting much like the Day in Dunking--the "...
