Post image for Marcus Camby: The Blazers Have a Curse

The Portland Trail Blazers haven’t done so well when it comes to injuries, especially with the knees. They have experienced problems with guys like Bill Walton, Sam Bowie, Greg Oden, and Brandon Roy. Then it just recently came to LaMarcus Aldridge, who had season-ending surgery on his knee.

It looks like they just can’t catch a break.

For Marcus Camby, he thinks along with several other players on the roster that the team is cursed.

“They might not want to admit it, but when I was there, my goodness, people were saying, ‘Are we really snake-bit? Are we really cursed?’ Doubts and talks like that came about. Everybody just tried to brush it to one side and remain positive, but it was hard to escape because everybody was talking about it. It’s hard to argue when it keeps happening year after year after year,” he said on the Weekend Dime.

The Blazers are definitely not the bee’s knees (*facepalms for terrible pun*).

Camby: Blazers believe in curse

Some people say the Blazers are cursed because of the injuries they have suffered through the years. Marcus Camby says some of the team's players agree.

Greg Oden: The career that never was

Greg Oden’s release by the Portland Trail Blazers may be the final chapter in what has been one of the most hard-luck stories in all of sports. We have seen athlete’s bodies betray them like before like in the case of Ernie Davis and Lou Gehrig but Oden’s has been a very unusual situation that

Strong Finish From Felton Shouldn't Fool Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have been looking for their next point guard of the future for some time now, and in a draft day deal last summer, the team thought they had found that player in Raymond Felton. Averaging career lows all over the stat sheet, though, and being out of shape for most of the regular season, Felton’s future with the team wasn’t even certain beyond the March...

A Message for LaMarcus Aldridge “Will You Please Toughen Up”

The Blazers new G.M. needs to suspend the notion that Portland can build around LaMarcus Aldridge and become a contender. Aldridge is not a player that you can build around – he is a nice complementary piece to a championship puzzle – but LaMarcus Aldridge will never be “The Man”. Aldridge is basically the same player he was five seasons ago, except that he has added a more...

Could Lakers Mitch Kupchak be next GM in Portland for Trailblazers?

The Portland Trailblazers have essentially fired everybody over last twelve months. Their General Manager was pink-slipped last May, their Coach was axed in March, and they even cut the last player they picked number one overall this season too. All this in addition to Brandon Roy being forced to retire, Raymond Felton playing horribly, and Marcus Camby being dealt along with Gerald...

Scouting the Trail Blazers: Limiting Hickson, Crawford, Batum key for Spurs

It’s the final home game of the regular season for the San Antonio Spurs (47-16) as they try to finish with only five losses in the AT&T Center, while also looking to push their seven-game winning streak up to eight. The Spurs will be hosting the Portland Trail Blazers, who are looking to end their five game losing streak. Being on the road doesn’t help the Blazers, as they...

Marcus Camby thinks the Trailblazers probably are cursed maybe

The Portland Trailblazers lost an All-NBA caliber player to a tragically freak knee injury that cut Brandon Roy's career much too short at the start of this season. They also drafted another potential franchise guy in Greg Oden who was officially released this season as well, after never being healthy enough to ever really play in Rip City. Portland passed up Kevin Durant to...
