BOSTON -- Sitting up on stage, wearing a plaid shirt and a backpack, Marquis Daniels looked out of place. In a few moments, Dwyane Wade would fill the seat Daniels occupied in front of seven rows of sportswriters, in a setting normally reserved for perennial All-Stars and MVP candidates. Daniels is neither of those, but on Friday he was as important as any superstar to the Celtics' cause. Along with Keyon Dooling and Mickael Pietrus, Daniels led the way for a bench unit that ramped up the energy and helped turn a tight game into a laugher against the mighty...

I've never understood why KG likes to shoot just a step inside the 3 point line (also known as the worst shot in basketball). I mean obviously everyone prefers him down low, but he's always been a jump shooting big man primarily and that's the way it's going to stay. Oddly enough I've seen him more than a handful of times shooting 3's in practice (made 4...
Earlier I posted the 1981 World Champion Celtics Locker Room Celebration video that I found earlier this week. Where did I find it? I was tipped off that Robert Parish was auctioning off his 1981 championship ring and the video was on the auction page. The auction has now ended and the ring has sold for $45,478. The ring came with a letter of authenticity signed by Robert Parish...
The Celtics responded from a tough Game 2 loss on the road with a scintillating Game 3 win at home to make it a 2-1 series. There were several fantastic plays and moments from the game. Check out the highlights below for some of them:

The Celtics came into Game 3 against the Heat on Friday needing another big effort from Kevin Garnett. And their request was more than answered as the big man went for 24 points and 11 rebounds in a 101-91 victory that cut the Boston series deficit to 2-1 heading into Game 4 on Sunday. Now playing center, Garnett is fulfilling a prediction his old coach, Flip Saunders, made 17...
I don’t have much time at all to write about that win that was alternately brilliant, frustrating and brilliant again, but check out my column for the Springfield Republican newspaper.
Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Rajon Rondo scored 21 points with 10 assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a 101-91 victory over the Heat in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night, cutting Miami's lead in the series to 2-1.
Game 4 is Sunday night in Boston.
LeBron James scored 34 points but the NBA MVP and the rest of the Heat went cold during...
*** Crawford. Kennedy. Willard. Davis. Their names strike fear in the hearts of all Celtics fans. No they are not members of the Miami Heat (not officially anyways, pardon the pun) but they are members of the Evil Axis of Officials. Their reputations are synonymous with ineptitude, narcissism, bias, bullying, and flat out ridiculousness [...]
We’ve all had problems in our lives. We either accept them, complain about them, which accomplishes nothing, or we hit them head on and resolve them. That’s the decision Celtics fans, for that matter all NBA fans, face when it comes to the quality of officiating in what’s marketed as the world’s greatest basketball league.
LeBron James took almost as many free throws...
Three reasons the Celtics won this game:
Grit and balls.
Balls and grit.
Grit and balls.
What did I tell you all before the game via Twitter? Joey Crawford is the only ref with the balls to take on LeBron Wade and Dwyane Wade. And Joey delivered with the 6th whistle on James.
Now excuse me while I restart my heart.

BOSTON—Both the Miami Heat and the Celtics are too good to be defeated by one man. LeBron James may have played a great Game 3 as Rajon Rondo played a great Game 2, but it will take a total team collaboration to win any game of this year’s edition of Eastern Conference Finals.

The Celtics lead the Heat 55-42 at the half despite a furious 16-point first quarter from LeBron James. James went 7-for-12 in the first, but got into foul trouble in the second quarter that limited him to only 4 points. Rajon Rondo got back to facilitating constant ball movement with seven assists leading to 15 [...]
Things haven’t gotten better for Wade against the Boston Celtics because they have been quick to send double-teams his way without the threat of Chris Bosh to keep them honest. The result is Wade is only averaging 21.0 points while seeing his shooting percentage steadily decline in each game so far this series.
Kevin Garnett is averaging a team-high 19.7 points against the Heat.
Nothing but conspiracy theories follow the NBA come playoff time. From the NBA lottery to the way the referees calls the game, it never ends. Former disgraced referee Tim Donaghy just brought more negative attention and ammo for that when he was busted for gambling on games, even those he officiated. Now, a Boston radio [...]
