Tim Duncan and Zach Randolph will be the matchup for tonight's game when the San Antonio Spurs visit the Memphis Grizzlies. The last time these two men faced each other, Duncan had the better individual game. he shot 75% (6-8) from the paint area while shooting 67% (4-6) from mid range with Randolph on the court and Randolph shot 30% (4-13) from the paint area and 20% (1-5) from mid range with Duncan on the opposing him. The game ended in overtime with San Antonio defeating Memphis 99-95 with Duncan having 27 points and 15 rebounds compared to Randolphs 17 points (5-21 overall shooting) and 15 rebounds. What Duncan must do on offense: This season he's had a more consistent mid range jumper than before. If Duncan can keep in motion from the top of the key to the paint, that will tire Randolph out. Zach Randolph prefers more of a power game inside where he can push his opponents around and Duncan in motion will make him use up energy and legs. With Tim shooting mor...

Resilient Grizzlies upend Spurs in OT behind Gay, Conley

MEMPHIS -- The Memphis Grizzlies don't blink. Not even when they are deluged with increasing trade rumors involving Rudy Gay. "You'd think with all the trade rumors that we were 10-24, not 24-10," Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley said. Not even when San Antonio point guard Tony Parker nailed a 3-point buzzer beater to send Friday's game into overtime. ...

Report: Timberwolves Rejected Offer for Rudy Gay

Via ESPN1500 Minnesota: The talk around the NBA for a while now has been the repeated attempts of the Memphis Grizzlies to trade swing man Rudy Gay. Gay, an extremely good player, is making over $16 million this season. A number reportedly a bit too high for the Grizzlies liking. Scheduled to make over $37 million over the next two years, it appears the time may be now for the...

Video: Diaw's impressive behind the back pass

Known for his versatility, Boris Diaw has characteristics of each position on the court. He can handle and shoot the ball, but what he does against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night is ridiculous for a big man. The San Antonio Spurs forward not only steals the ball from Robert Sacre but does a quick behind the back pass while looking to run in transition.

Video: Parker sends the game into OT

It was a phenomenal game last night between the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies last night with both teams not backing down to each other. And though in the end Memphis would come up on the winning end, Spurs' Tony Parker would make sure San Antonio would have a fighting chance as he sent the game into overtime. Check out TP's clutch shot from last night's game.

San Antonio Spurs End 2012 With 82-37 Record

Eighty-two wins and 37 losses in a calendar year is not bad for some old guys. But there’s no championship or NBA Finals appearance to show for it, so far. The strike-shortened season of 2011-12 created an unusual schedule, with games bundled more closely on the sports calendar. The Spurs were 47-15 in the regular season (50-16 overall, counting games before 2012 began) and 10...

Grizzlies outlast Spurs in overtime

Rudy Gay hit a pullup jumper from 14 feet with 27.8 seconds left, and the Memphis Grizzlies held off the San Antonio Spurs 101-98 in overtime Friday night for their fourth straight victory and their first over their Southwest Division rival since the 2011 playoffs. San Antonio had won five straight in the series since the Grizzlies upset the then-No. 1 seed in the opening round...

Grizzlies 101, Spurs 98 (OT)

MEMPHIS - If the Memphis Grizzlies' new owners indeed want to trade Rudy Gay to ease their future luxury tax, they may want to consider the Griz's 101-98 overtime victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night. Gay's 18-foot pullup jumper with 27.8 seconds left in the extra period gave Memphis a 99-98 lead, and reserve Darrell Arthur added a breakaway dunk with...

Rudy Gay Says Rajon Rondo Wants Him in Boston

I realize that we’ve been reporting on Rudy Gay trade rumors like we’re ESPN covering Tim Tebow, but here’s a nice quote from Rudy Gay himself on the response he’s been getting from other players when he speaks with them about all of the trade talk (courtesy of SlamOnline.com via Yahoo! Sports): “It’s hard to talk to [Rondo] because he is always saying, ‘We need you...

Rondo Trying To Recruit Rudy Gay?

Whether it’s close friend Rajon Rondo, Jarrett Jack, or other basketball colleagues, Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay has been leaning on his circle of NBA friends to get him through recent trade speculation. While Rondo, according to Gay, is giving sound advice, the Boston Celtics guard can’t help being a little selfish. “It’s hard to talk to [Rondo] because he is...

Timberwolves-Spurs Preview

After failing to break out of their road funk despite Tony Parker's heroics, the San Antonio Spurs look to continue their dominance at home. The Spurs appear primed to get back in the win column and capture their 12th straight home victory Sunday night when they meet the slumping Minnesota Timberwolves. San Antonio has won 15 straight home games in the series by an average...

Raptors Offering the Most for Grizzlies' Rudy Gay

Rudy Gay is quickly becoming the hottest trade target this season in the NBA.  He has helped the Memphis Grizzlies to a solid record, but the team is thinking long-term.  And the Toronto Raptors may help those long-term plans.  They are willing to give up young talent for Gay. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Raptors have stepped up and have offered the Grizzlies the best...

Grizzlies-Mavericks Preview

The Memphis Grizzlies are on a roll, and the venue hasn't made much of a difference. On the brink of their longest road winning streak in three seasons, the Grizzlies go for another victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night. Memphis (24-10) has put together four-game winning streaks both overall and on the road to move within 1 1/2 games of Southwest Division-leading...
