After a few days of mild discussion regarding to Shawn Marion departing from the Toronto Raptors and entering onto the Dallas Mavericks roster, ESPN now reports that a four way deal has been accepted and is waiting upon the league office for final approval. Dallas MavericksAcquire- Toronto's Shawn Marion (who will receive a five-year, nearly $40 mill contract) , Kris Humphries, and Memphis' Greg Bucker (who will more likely than not be released).Memphis GrizzliesAcquire- Dallas' Jerry Stackhouse (along with a cash payment to buy out Stackhouse's contract) and Toronto's Quincy Douby.Toronto RaptorsAcquire- Dallas' Devean George and Antoine Wright (turning the Turkoglu signing into a sign-and-trade, giving the Raptors an opportunity to re-sign Spaniard Carlos Delfino).Orlando MagicAcquire- Receive a trade exception for being apart of the Hedo Turkoglu sign-and-trade deal, giving them up to $7 million to spend in a future deal."Teams with a trade exception have up to a year in which they can acquire more salary in other trades (Trade #2, #3, etc) than they send away, as long as the gulf in salaries for Trade #2, #3, etc are less than or equal to the difference in salary for Trade #1. " - (Wiki)Who got the better end of the deal?To be quite honest, each team gets better from this deal. They either received a player that will now help them contend for the playoffs (Mavericks/Marion), obtained a substantial amount of money for the near future (Memphis/Stackhouse buy out), cleared space to sign a player (Raptors/Delfino), or acquired money for a future trade exception (Orlando).I say good deal to all the GM's and owners that were apart of this transaction!
