     Last season the Knicks made a deal with the Houston Rockets to clear more cap space. They sent defensive stud Jared Jeffries, lottery pick Jordan Hill, and a 2012 first round draft pick to Houston in exchange for Tracy McGrady. In the deal, the Rockets would also get swingman Kevin Martin and the Knicks would get point guard Sergio Rodriguez. The Kings would get Carl Landry, Larry Hughes, and Joey Dorsey. While the Knicks were excited to be bringing in a former all-star in McGrady, they even admitted that the main purpose of the deal was to clear $9 million of salary in order to pursue two free agents in the summer of 2010.      It turns out that the Knicks would not sign them two max free agents in the summer.
