Metta World Peace has been relegated to the bench this season under Mike Brown and is having the worst season of his career.
And while he’s coming off one of his best all-around performances of the season in the Lakers’ win over Lob City on Wednesday, it’s safe to assume the player formerly known as Ron Artest is in the twilight of his career. But when asked about it, World Peace himself explained his slide with another of his Artest-worthy answers.
As he told ESPN LA:
“The defense, I got to bring it back,” World Peace said after practice Thursday, a day after putting up three points, seven assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block while playing a season-high 38 minutes. “I got bored with defense because it was so easy for me to stop people over the years.
