Of all NBA teams, only Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder fail to come up with an “s” for the cheerleaders.
For the first time in history of the NBA, neither team in the Finals is giving us a letter called ‘s’ to conjure on the front of their jerseys.
Yes, the word “significant” begins with ‘s’ while NBA “Finals” ends with one.
The last time we saw a big “S” on the chest of a mighty superhero of the NBA he was playing for the Magic, going by the name of Dwight Howard.
How important is it that there is not a single ‘s’ to be found in the names of the East and West Conference finalists? This could be a first. And, it happens in the final year of the Mayan calendar!
Nearly every team ends with the sibilant consonant, but certainly you can find that letter between “r” and “t” somewhere in the team’s name.
Give us an “S” indeed: not from the Heat or the Thunder. We couldn’t even find your standard Big ‘S’ (or small) in Miami or Oklahoma City.

Game 1 off the NBA finals went to the Thunder. But what about the OTHER battle, the fashion one? Russell Westbrook wore a shirt from the 2012 Prada spring collection and of course, personality frames. KD opted for a slim cut suit in black. King James opted for a color mash featuring a berry shirt, [...]
I suppose Dwyane Wade thought the Thunder was in Las Vegas because he would understand the night life in Oklahoma City is vastly different from South Beach as he tells Y!Sports there is nothing to do in the Sooner state. “There is not a lot of exciting things going on out here.” – Dwyane Wade It’s [...]
The tipoff of Game 1 between the Heat and Thunder for the NBA championship can’t come soon enough, as reporters have officially run out of questions to ask the players and coaches. In fact, some of them ran out of things to discuss a couple of days ago. On Sunday, Thunder coach Scott Brooks was asked about the ridiculous fashion statement Russell Westbrook has been making throughout...
After the Miami Heat’s Game 1 105-94 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Dwyane Wade received a very non controversial question from a reporter and reacted with poorly with his response. The reporter asked about the process of picking and choosing his shots and immediately Wade got frustrated. Wade responded with a “Uhh, I’m sorry man. This is the finals. I’ve been doing...
"Sorry babe, but I just gotta dance."
After the Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James led their fired up teammates to the locker room for a brief celebratory dance party. They deserved every bounce of it, too, as they fought back from a 3-2 deficit to return to the NBA Finals for...
Last Friday, an Oklahoma City tattoo parlor by the name of Tornado Tattoos decided to do something special for fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder as they gave away free tattoos of the Thunder logo from 1pm-6pm.The tattoos themselves normally would cost $100 but the owner of the shop Josh Poindexter decided to do it for the fans and help drum up some business:“I thought it would...
Kevin Durant and his mother, Wanda Pratt, are very close. If you weren’t already aware of that, you know it now after seeing the two of them embrace after the Thunder beat the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. According to Sports Illustrated, Pratt even lived with Durant during his rookie season and K.D. was perfectly fine with it, saying his mother makes him a better person...
There is no question that Miami Heat star LeBron James is the best player in the NBA but last year in the NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks he choked. James was horrible when the games where on the line in the 4th quarter.
Below are some of what I wrote during last year’s NBA finals.
LeBron James was awful during the 4th quarter; he was 0 for 4 from the...
LeBron James has been criticized his whole career for not stepping up when it really matters. That’s the price you pay when some call you the best in the world. His constant disappearing acts down the stretches of big games have now become part of his calling card.
Last year’s NBA Finals was no exception. James didn’t play to the level he’s capable of and the Heat lost to...
It was a tough night for the Heat. Shawn Battier was on fire early and the Heat had a big lead, but they were only up by 7 at the half, and as the game went on it was just a matter of time. Oklahoma City was too fast and too talented, and the Heat players were too tired in the fourth quarter.
Kevin Durant is an assassin. He’s fearless and he has the best shooting stroke since...
Why aren’t you rooting for LeBron James? Unless you’re an Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtic (Classy) or Indiana Pacer fan, it has no intellect at all. Aren’t you tired of giving all your effort to hating LeBron? Or have you not reached your peak and plan on taking your disgust Facebook statuses to the next level?
We get it, LeBron left you clinching your...
Mike Tyson, who hasn’t boxed since losing to Kevin McBride in 2005, is still relevant and still hilarious. Tyson showed off his singing skills on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night by performing his song power ballad about LeBron James. All bets are that Tyson wrote the piece himself and if he didn’t, Jimmy Kimmel and his writers are pure geniuses to dish off the line “LeBron...
Who knew that boxer Mike Tyson was also one of the greatest singer-songwriter-entertainers of our generation?
No one. They still don't. (I hear he can chew your ear with a good story though).
But they do know what he thinks of LeBron James, after this piece of brilliance which he sung on the Jimmy Kimmel show:
Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma, with the Heat and the Thunder, is set to Tip-Off at 8 PM Eastern time. Kevin Durant Dominated in game one and just took over. Can LeBron dominate today and get the win on the road? There are many factors that will contribute to tonight's game in order for the Heat not to go down 2-0 in the series. Dwayne Wade needs to have a better game than...
