NBA.com has announced the results of its Tenth Annual NBA.com GM Survey. Not surprisingly, The Miami Heat are predicted to win the The Finals 2012 by an overwhelming 74 percent of GMs. NBA GMs also predict that Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kevin Durant will be named the 2011-12 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving as 2011-12 Rookie of the Year. The complete survey results are now posted on NBA.com. The exclusive survey, providing fans with an inside look into the minds of NBA decision-makers on the season, revealed the Heat will win The Finals, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder who received 15 percent of the vote, and the Los Angeles Lakers with 7 percent. NBA GMs had selected the Lakers to win The Finals in the three previous NBA.com GM Surveys.

Kevin Durant Dedicates His Season to Injured Celtics Guard, Former Teammate Jeff Green (Video)
Kevin Durant and Jeff Green no longer play together, but that isn't stopping Durant from dedicating his season to his former teammate. Green, of course, is sidelined for the entire season because of an aortic aneurysm that required heart surgery. Durant is currently in the midst of another stellar season, but he hasn't forgotten the time he spent with Green. Since meeting...
Kevin Durant Replaces Thor as New 'God of Thunder'
Thor had his mystical hammer, Mjolnir, but he didn't have Kevin Durant's wingspan and deadly shooting stroke. The god of thunder from Norse mythology was able to make lightning come from his hammer, but that isn't half as electrifying as what the god of the Thunder in Oklahoma City generates.

Here’s a teaser for a new Nike training product, which is set for release this Thursday, Jan. 19. Looks like the Swoosh is holding back on details for now, but check out a teaser for the drop above, starring Thunder forward and SLAM 155 cover star Kevin Durant.
Wizards Make Thunder Supporting Cast Disappear
When the league’s best team loses to its worst, the story practically writes itself. “Played to the level of their opponent,” sportswriters can grumble, or “Don’t have the mental toughness to win it all.” Much more complex, but less juicy, is a hyperbole-free examination of facts. Here they are.

Boston Celtics Jermaine O’Neal Has Another Solid Game
The Celtics got a great game from JO against the Thunder. JO was a solid defensive presence blocking a shot and recording a couple steals. He also made life difficult for Thunder scorers Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook by making the lane to the hoop vanish with his tall body and long arms. He also rebounded well with eleven rebounds. JO also chipped in with 12 points. It is too...

Wizards vs. Thunder: Open thread for Game 14
Kevin Durant will make his lone trip home as the NBA-best Oklahoma City Thunder (12-2) take on the NBA-worst Wizards (1-12) at Verizon Center. Andray Blatche will return to the starting lineup for the first time in six games (he missed three because of a sore right shoulder), replacing Trevor Booker. Rookie Chris Singleton will have the assignment of guarding Durant.

Breaking: Russell Westbrook Signs Massive Contract Extension With the Oklahoma City Thunder
It would appear that any cracks that may exist in the Kevin Durant/Russell Westbrook relationship are not going to result in Russ leaving town any time soon. Yahoo!Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Oklahoma City Thunder signed Rusell to a five-year, $80 million contract extension last night. Some specifics on the deal from Woj: [...]
Post Up: Federal Holiday
by Abe Schwadron | @abe_squad
Kevin Durant played his high school ball in Rockville, Maryland, just a few miles north of where I played mine (okay, so it was only JV, whatever) and less than a half-hour from the Verizon Center, depending on your mode of transportation. So when KD comes back to Washington, it’s a big deal. He’s not shy about where he’s from, nor...
