The San Antonio Spurs paid a hefty fine back in November when coach Greg Popovich decided to rest his starters and send them home after a long stretch, rather than have them face the Heat. The team was fined $250,000, now according to ESPN, a Miami attorney named Larry McGuinness wants them pay more, and now he’s bringing a class action suit against the franchise. ”Spurs coach Gregg Popovich “intentionally and surreptitiously” sent their best players home without the knowledge of the league, the team and the fans attending the Nov. 29 game against the Miami Heat. Myself as well as other fans, “suffered economic damages” as a result of paying a premium price for a ticket that shouldn’t cost more. “It was like going to Morton’s Steakhouse and paying $63 for porterhouse and they bring out cube steak,” said McGuinness, who said he bought his ticket on the resale market. “That’s exactly what happened here.” Not sure what to make of this, but if this guy can win, than everybody will start suing if their favorite player doesn’t suit up.
