TEAMS: Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers
Earlier this week a tweet was sent to HoopsHype.com Twitter account from a savvy old veteran by the name of Michael Finley and it read like this, “U left me off the free agency list #notdoneyet.” The tweet was sent because Finley said that he could not find his name on the wbesites list of NBA free agents. Finley then followed up on the tweet by saying that he now feels 100% healthy and is ready to return to professional basketball preferably the NBA but not ruling out overseas options as well.
The last time Finley saw any NBA action was a year and a half ago when the Boston Celtics made their Finals run, eventually losing in seven games to the Los Angeles Lakers, in which he really had no affect on the outcome because of his limited playing time due to ankle problems. Finley answered questions about the ankle saying that when he went to Boston his ankle was not 100%. Finley added that after that season with the Celtics he got his ankle worked on, and that he now feels a lot b...

Finley wants to come back to the NBA?
Does everyone know where former San Antonio Spurs guard Michael Finley finished out his NBA career? The answer is the Boston Celtics. If you didn’t know that, I don’t blame you. After Finley left the Spurs, he kind of faded into obscurity, trying to contribute what he could to a Celtics team that lost in the Finals to the L.A. Lakers. He never really was at 100% and didn’t...

Wizards Celtics Monday
The Celtics were able to win one on the road Sunday against the Wizards, but both teams travel back to Boston to finish off the second part of a double header between the two squads. The Celtics looked like the much better team in their contest Sunday, as they rightfully should have, but the dreaded [...]
Comments From the Other Side - Pistons 12/30
It sure was good to get a win in this one and just as good to see the Captain back on the court. There's no use criticizing the Pistons, their fans seem to do enough of that. I feel bad for them because I've been there as a Celtics fan. Most remember their championship teams and now are hitting bottom. Some fun comments. Of course there are the recurring Boston is old...
Boston Celtics 96, Detroit Pistons 85
The Celtics shot 52.2% from the floor and they were up 86-64 after three quarters, so the Pistons never really mounted much of a challenge. Jermaine O’Neal shot 7 of 9 from the floor last night as he led the way for the Celtics with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots. Ray Allen (17 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 1 steal) and Brandon Bass (17 points and...
The beauty of a setting sun
The sun sets every evening, but only occasionally are the clouds splayed perfectly across the night sky to draw an array of yellow, orange and blue pastels and catch your attention so beautifully that a higher power suddenly seems like a greater possibility. Not one to watch sunsets routinely, I occasionally glance at the sky in the evening at the right time and wonder why I don...
Recap: Boston vs. Washington
Ray Allen scored 11 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, and the Celtics kept the Wizards winless with a 100-92 victory in the back end of a home-and-home series.
Celtics 94, Wizards 86: Rondo, Garnett too much for Washington
I imagine Rashard Lewis wakes up each morning, admires his grizzly goatee in the mirror, thanks God (or Otis Smith) for his $118 million contract and then spends 45 minutes throwing darts at a board adorned with photos of Nick Young, Andray Blatche and Jordan Crawford. It took just 18 seconds for Young to launch his first step-back, contested jump shot of the night. Blatche continued...
John Wall Posterizes Boston's Greg Stiemsma (Video)
For those of you looking for the NBA poster dunk of the night, we have this impressive slam by Washington Wizards guard John Wall on Boston Celtics center Greg Stiemsma:
Allen heats up in 4th to lead Celtics over Wizards
Ray Allen scored 11 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter and the Boston Celtics won for the second straight night over Washington, beating the winless Wizards 100-92 on Monday night.
Being at home, having Pierce help Celtics get in win column
Unquestionably, there were semblances of doubt and insecurity that surfaced after the Celtics limped home Wednesday night after essentially having their pride snatched away, balled up, and discarded by the New Orleans Hornets. The Celtics spent the next 48 hours trying to disregard their disappointment at being winless.
Rondo's triple-double leads Celtics over Wizards
Rajon Rondo had 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds while Kevin Garnett had 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics over the winless Washington Wizards 94-86 on Sunday night.
Open thread: Game 5, Wizards at Celtics
The Wizards (0-4) are still the NBA’s only winless team as they conclude a home-and-home, back-to-back series against the Boston Celtics. John Wall played his best game of the season (19 points, eight assists and seven rebounds), but fellow Kentucky alum Rajon Rondo was much better, finishing with a triple-double (18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds) as the Wizards lost 94-86...
