Michael Jordan might not be planning another comeback now that he’s hit 50 years old. But, just for fun’s sake, how do you think he’s do if he did return to the court? Well, M.J.’s personal trainer has an opinion. In an interview with WFNZ in Charlotte (compiled here by Sports Radio Interviews), Tim Grover said that he believes not only could Jordan still score 20 points a night if given the opportunity, but that he would be the Charlotte Bobcats’ best player if he came back. “Just the way he would compete, that if one of the players actually did beat him, he would take it so seriously that he would get himself in better shape and re-challenge that individual until he’d be able to beat him again,” said Grover. “His skill set was so high. … I guarantee it’s still higher than most of the guys out there.” “He’d average 20. Yeah, he’d average 20.” To be sure, the topic of Jordan’s current physical shape has been oft talked about with his just-passed 50th birthday. Moreover, comparing Jordan with current NBA greats like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James has also been a favorite debate in the media. But, for the record, Grover doesn’t think Jordan’s been paying too much attention to the talk. “I don’t think so, that it bothers him. But again, being a competitor, he’s definitely hearing it,” said Grover. “And it’s part of what’s probably stirring things up a little bit is this whole debate.” Photo of the Night Luke Scott killed this boar with a spear. He’s bigger, he’s faster, he’s stronger.” –Isiah Thomas, throwing his opinion into the ongoing debate Tweet of the Night Hey, who knew Jose Canseco likes indie rock. Japandroids are really good.
