Andre Miller's second Denver Nuggets stint could end up being longer than his first one.

The point guard signed a three-year contract to remain with the team. If he fulfills the life of that deal in Denver, Miller would have been with the Nuggets for four seasons. He lasted 3 1/2 years with them after having signed as a free agent in the summer of 2003 before he was traded midway through the 2006-07 season.

"I've been living here almost 10 years," said Miller, who maintained a residence in the Denver area during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers and Portland Trail Blazers before rejoining the Nuggets. "I'm happy to be back. I didn't really want to go anywhere else."

Miller, 36, actually had talked after the season about possibly joining a team that might have a better chance to contend for a title. However, he soon was convinced he was in an ideal situation in Denver.

Miller, who backs up Ty Lawson, isn't a starter, but that does keep wear and tear off him at his advanced age, and he did still play 27.4 minutes per game last season while averaging 9.7 points and 6.7 assists.

"The way we ended the season, it was very clear that we had to have Andre back," Nuggets coach George Karl said. "His leadership to Ty and the second unit off the bench was first class."

Now, the Nuggets will focus on re-signing center JaVale McGee. Because he's a restricted free agent, they can match any offer.
