Jeff Teague reportedly plans to sign an offer sheet with the Milwaukee Bucks as a restricted free agent. The deal is reportedly worth $32 million over four years. Teague will now play the waiting game with his current team – the Atlanta Hawks – who have three days to match the offer once Teague signs, or they could allow him to go on his way. If Teague, the Hawks’ starting point guard, does end up in Milwaukee, he would reunite with former Atlanta coach Larry Drew. Drew took over head coaching responsibilities with the Bucks earlier this summer. The offer could be indicative of Milwaukee’s waning confidence in Brandon Jennings as the team’s franchise point guard. Jennings is also a restricted free agent for the Bucks, and he is wanting a max contract from another team. It doesn’t look like he’s going to get the kind of high-dollar offer he expected. Meanwhile, Teague seems to still be filling out his maximum NBA potential. Atlanta drafted him 19th overall in 2009 out of Wake Forest and he has blossomed ever since. After coming off the bench during his first two seasons, Teague assumed the starting role the past two season for the Hawks. Teague averaged almost 14.6 points a game last season to go with his 7.2 assists. He has helped lead the Hawks to four playoff appearances. We’ll know quickly whether or not the Hawks plan to match this deal.
