This is not how to shoot a free throw. This is not even close to how to shoot a free throw.

The next time you see Dwight Howard missing a bunch down the stretch or remember just how bad it was when Shaquille O’Neal strolled to the line, turn to this video and take solace. Appalachian State's Brian Okam had a better chance of getting his ball into the rafters than getting it near the hoop.

It’s sort of like when a pitcher winds up and then loses control of the ball, except — except, who knows. Plenty of players can’t shoot, but this is something else.

Dwight Howard as “Ghost Hunter” for Adidas (VIDEO)

As many already know off the court NBA Superstar Dwight Howard is a guy who likes to joke around a lot and have a good time with fans, his teammates, and the media. So, it should come as no surprise to hear that Howard’s new commercial for Adidas is completely ridiculous. This new Foot Locker commercial stars Dwight Howard as the ghost hunter. In the commercial, the voiceover...

Video: Dwight Howard’s latest Foot Locker commercial: “Ghost Hunter”

Tweet   Dwight Howard has been in the news alot lately whether it’s been for his poor free-throw shooting (104-218 for a career-low .477%) or a minor exchange with Kobe Bryant during a recent game. Away from the court the Los Angeles Lakers center is as entertaining as any player in the NBA and the [...]

Dwight Howard Doesn’t Want Free Throw Advice

Toward the end of shootaround Friday, Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash approached Dwight Howard and offered up a couple of tips on how to shoot free throws. Though Howard is shooting just 46.9 percent from the foul line this season, while Nash is tied with Mark Price for the best free throw percentage in NBA history at 90.4 percent, the Lakers center said he’s had enough...

Howard blows off Steve Nash FT pointers

Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash, who is tied with Mark Price for the best free throw shooting percentage in NBA history at 90.4 percent, offered to help Dwight Howard shoot free throws during Friday's shootaround, but he wasn't having any of it. "Listen, he was just suggesting some things, but it's not something that we've already talked about or anybody...

Dwight Howard and the Lakers are impressed by Rajon Rondo

According to Lakers beat reporter Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers were watching the Celtics-76ers game in the locker room before their game against the Thunder tonight and were impressed by Rajon Rondo's near triple-double in the first half (he went on to secure the triple-double in the 3rd quarter). Dwight Howard chimed in that "the game just comes easy to him:"...

Roy Hibbert Wants to Surpass Dwight Howard as Best Center in NBA

Roy Hibbert is coming for your title, Dwight Howard. He might not be coming swiftly, or very directly, but he is coming. Hibbert intends to be the best center in the NBA one day, supplanting Howard as the elite of that position, the struggling Pacers center declared while denying that he posted a photo with “#[expletive]Dwight” on Instagram. Hibbert’s offensive decline has...

Kevin Durant: Kobe Bryant's an 'old fart'

Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant, who is now at 10,517 career points after scoring 36 in the Thunder's 114-108 victory over the Lakers Friday night, remembers growing up and watching Kobe Bryant dominate.  “I didn't really get to see a lot of Jordan in his prime,” said Durant, who then playfully took a jab at Bryant. “But seeing Kobe, I know he's an old fart.”...

Thunder Survive Lakers Late Push, Win 114-108

When the Los Angeles Lakers traded for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, before the NBA campaign began; many longtime observers of the Association expected the franchise would be riding high all season. The club’s fortunes have yet to match those expectations; case in point; if the regular campaign ended on Friday night, the Lakers would not be in the Post Season mix; after falling...

Video: D-III player shoots worst free-throw attempt of all-time

Even Shaquille O'Neal and Dwight Howard are cringing after watching this horrendous attempt from the charity stripe. Seen here is Appalachian State junior Brian Okam releasing unarguably the worst free-throw attempt in the history of basketball. Disclaimer: The faint of heart may want to shield their eyes. The end result is quite brutal. The now infamous moment came during...

The worst free-throw attempt in basketball history

This video makes Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard look like the best free throw shooters in the business. Both O’Neal and Howard are notorious for being horrendous at shooting free throws, but at least they can get the ball in proximity of the rim. The same can not be said for Appalachian State Center Brian Okam, who re-defined the term “airball” after attempting a...

Lakers fall to to 9-12 as their defense becomes an issue

The Los Angeles Lakers have one heck of a starting lineup.  With such an All-Star lineup, you would expect them to have a loss column in the single-digits.  Except in this particular season, the Lakers have 12 losses piled up.  One thing is for sure, getting a new coach did not solve all their problems.  That move, however, did help rejuvenate the team in terms of a new style...

Full-Court Press: NBA's big men off center

This was the summer of the center, even the summer of the centers. In the NBA today, it's so rare to hear centers, plural, for there to be so much discussion of big men, period, and so there was reason to think that it might carry over. Dwight Howard was shipped to the Lakers, Andrew Bynum to the 76ers, and there was reason to think that Howard might be the missing piece in the...

We’re not sure how this got through without anyone at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wondering if this headline could be received poorly, but the paper probably wants this one back right about now. PHOTO COURTESY: IM MCISAAC/NEWSDAY Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara learned to juggle this off season.  He didn’t do this so he could entertain house guests; he learned in an effort to perfect his skills on defense. Part of Amukamara’s offseason workout was to juggle which he thinks will boost his interception numbers.  The fourth year cornerback says his new skill helps...

In a less-than-surprising move, the Los Angeles Lakers have hired Byron Scott to be their new head coach. With Scott now on board, they can move on to their offseason program and start to implement his philosophy on the court.  Lakers have agreed to terms with Byron Scott to be...

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports mentions in his Bills training camp report that he expects Buffalo to field calls for one of their running backs as injuries start piling up. Spiller “could be the odd man out.” La Canfora points to the fact that Spiller is entering the...

Marcus Mariota's course load will make you laugh

Marcus Mariota could have left Oregon for the NFL following last season. The Ducks redshirt junior quarterback would have likely been a first-round draft pick. He could be making millions of dollars as a professional athlete.  The dual threat opted to return to Eugene for at least one more season. Life won’t be too bad for the Heisman contender, either. He’s only taking two...
